    Lindsay on Vladdy

Belak...Golubovsky...6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other! Belak wouldn't have made the Wings either. He's only a "name" because Toronto fans deify mediocre players all the time. In fact, Toronto fans actually got on his @ss for his shortcomings! That's an achievement right there! I do think Lindsay took a few liberties with his statements. I'm not sure his "Guys like him (Gnida) should be shot" comment are really going to help the cause. Of course, I can't say I totally disagree with that statement, but you gotta make it a bit more palatable for a court situation. Vladdy was a great D-Man and a total physical specimen. Remember when he was playing tennis in the off season and ripped a ligament...but still recovered and played most of the season? I don't think Vladdy would have won Norris Trophies because voting is biased toward offensive defensemen, but he would certainly be mentioned in the same breath as Scott Stevens for his play.

Ribeiro, a quick history of his toughness

I can't see it either, but being a big Habs fan, I would guess that this is when Ribeiro got "hit" in the Boston series a few years back and writhed on the ice like a little girl. It was so shameful that even the Hab fans got on him. That incident was one of the first things I had thought of after he two handed Ozzie. Ribs was a punk in Montreal. So many analysts talk about how Dallas "stole" him from Montreal, but he was a punk and a cancer on the Canadiens. Being a Montreal native, he had a huge sense of entitlement there. Good for him to have found his game after being shipped to Dallas, but clearly once a punk, always a punk.

    Penguins fan here

Hi CS! Have to admit, although I've been a big time lurker to this forum, I finally decided to start posting to respond to your comment here! First off, I should say that after the Wings, my (distant) second and third favorite teams are the Habs and the Pens (and all three of which I have jerseys and T-shirts which I wear when not watching the Wings). I'd have been in hockey heaven if the Pens were playing the Habs instead of the Flyers! As for secondary scoring, of our forwards, only two don't have goals in these playoffs: Dallas Drake and Kirk Maltby, and in Malts' case, that's pretty much because he didn't play until this series. Both are also awesome on the forecheck, and I believe both have nailed Mike Ribeiro pretty well at least once this series. Not that that's your concern, but it makes me feel pretty happy to mention that. Contrary to popular belief, Pavel Datsyuk does not have a game winning goal. Ours come from Franzen, Zetterberg, Jiri Hudler, Kris Draper and Nick Lidstrom. In a lot of ways, these two teams can be mirror images of each other. Assuming it comes to pass, this could be one of the greatest series in recent memory.
