Great news!!!! :beerbuddy:

I sure hope that they are just exploring options and are not really interested in this guy. Just say no to Emery!
-
I wouldn't mind seeing him here so long as he doesn't get more that 2 mil a year.

Scott Niedermayer Has Decided To Play Again Next Year
DatsMyWings13 replied to Frozen-Man's topic in General
I really thought he would hang them up this year. I guess it's good news if your a Ducks fan. -
Nicely Put!
-
Meech deserves that honor. I hope he gets more ice time this coming year.
-
I'm all for Downey returning! I think every team needs one legit enforcer.
-
I have mixed feelings about Chelios returning. His experience and knowledge is great but his play has started diminish and I think he is taking up a roster spot that someone else deserves. If we didn't have a such a log jam at the position I would be very happy to have him back but at this point I would rather see him retire.

Yup, seems like every year at this time there is a new rumor of a team trying to sign Scotty and every year Bowman reassures everyone he's not going anywhere. Scotty is going to stay with the Wings for the rest of his career IMO .
-
Only if they are fine being the back up and we admit that Howard is never going to be a NHL goaltender. And they would have to sign for less than 2 mil a season. I'd like to see Howard get his chance at backing up Ozzie.
-
Roberts = Done. I think he should hang them up.
-
maybe but I guess I'll never find out.

I made a pair and they looked good but I can't see spending $100 on shoes I'd only wear when I was sporting one of my jerseys
-
I would like to see Howard get his chance to back up Ozzie. I'd like to see him play about 25 or 30 games. He might surprise people.

This guy should just stop writing about hockey unless it's for the local paper in Anaheim. Here's to getting lucky again and again!! Go Wings!!!
-
I'd pass as he is surely going to get over paid for his skill set and he is a big distraction!
-
I'm okay with Lilja coming back as he doesn't cost much and is a good D-man for a 3rd pairing. Stuart would be nice to have but he's not worth over paying to persuade to stay. If he wants to play for a team that has little chance at a cup then let him leave, but if he wants to play for a team that has a legit chance every year he'll sign a deal here.

Russian League poised to offer Malkin $12.5 mill/yr
DatsMyWings13 replied to sixer's topic in General
I hope he stays in the NHL! If he does leave I wouldn't blame him. I really hope this type of thing doesn't happen very often as I'd hate to loose world class hockey players to another league. -
I don't see the nhl winning this battle.

Here is what espn has on the topic: Shopping Malkin Evgeni Malkin | Penguins | Interested: Kings? The Penguins are willing to trade C Evgeni Malkin and "dangled" him to the Kings in a deal for the second overall draft pick and possibly F Mike Cammalleri, according to the Ottawa Sun. "I've had two legitimate offers," Kings GM Dean Lombardi told the Sun. "I've spoken with ownership and we've agreed that we're going to build here for the long term. To trade away that draft pick, we're going to have to get a lot of value. I'm not seeing things change a whole lot [before Friday's entry draft in Ottawa]." Malkin is still a year from restricted free agency, but it's fueling all sorts of speculation over his future in Pittsburgh. Malkin says he wants to re-sign with the Penguins and the Beaver County Times reports that he will likely soon sign a five-year extension worth roughly $8.5M per season. But the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the Penguins have made re-signing RW Marian Hossa their top priority. The peper said the Penguins will offer nearly $50M over seven years for Hossa, who could likely get $8M per year as an unrestricted free agent. Either way it doesn't leave much room for other key players such as C Jordan Staal, who is due to be restricted next summer as well.

Hard to believe that trade will happen.

I hope he decides to retire!
