Shanahan's job is to keep players safe on the ice. Accidents happen but swinging your stick right after a face-off is completely unnecessary. Had it happened in the corner and let's say Bouchard lost his balance and his stick went up breaking Calvert's teeth there would've still been a four-minute minor, but I don't think there would've been a suspension. Thank god it was "just" Calvert's mouth and not his eyes.

I remember there was this coach named Bowman who changed lines all the time and he did rather well.

Yesterday's bottom six was Abdelkader - Helm - Bertuzzi Holmström - Emmerton - Miller Babcock said he wants to play Eaves and Brunsström so it'll be interesting to see what he's going to do. Before the Sens game I would've said that it's Miller and Emmerton who sit but they were two of the best forwards in that game.

I'd like to see a replay of the Kindl hit on Zibanejad. I missed it cause FSD was quick to cut to commercial. NHL.com doesn't have it and neither does Youtube.

At which point did Ericsson look bad tonight? I didn't notice. Most of the team looked rather sluggish for the first 15 and last 15 minutes of the game.

This was the first time that FSD has shown a replay of a penalty tonight.

The worst D pairing in Wings history are combined +6 in this game. Oh and I don't think there was any flies to keep off when there was crowd in Howie's crease. The only Sens player in there was pushed there by Lidström. Neil was keeping a polite distance.

This time I noticed it too, but now the site is working again. It seems like the thing to do is to pick early to be sure that you have at least something done and then later edit the picks if you feel like it. There's still 40 minutes to pick the first three games.

I wouldn't expect Holland to do a thing as he's just had his roster set for the time being. I don't know much about him, but Nyström didn't make Wild's roster so I wonder if he would crack Wings. He's on a one-way deal so Wild definitely isn't happy how his contract has turned out. And if he really is a good 4th line grinder then some other team is going to get him before Wings. By the way, how does the waiver claim order work during the summer before a single regular season game has been played? Is it by last season's standings? I think it wouldn't be very fair too look the the current season standings before each team has played 15-20 games.
