Oh, I didn't know that. Must be because he's lived in U.S. for few years and he's been called that. Not unusual at all actually, to make the pronouncing easier for locals. -

"Quist" is correct, but "Ny" is not like in "Nike", but almost like in "new". -

Nyquist seems to be a stud of the future. Someone should dig up a soundbite or a video where people could learn how to pronounce his name. Did Babcock just call Ian White "Whitey"? -
To me the few seconds that are saved is a nonfactor. Well, there's more time to score goals. :/ Just mentioned it cause it's quite usual to have the misconception that no touch icing breaks the flow of the game.

Nonsense, poopypants. Whistle comes faster, no need to wait for defenseman to skate over and touch the puck. Forwards beat the icing maybe once a game so it doesn't really bring more whistles.

How many times a forwards beats the defenseman on the icing? Maybe once in a game. Doesn't add that many stoppages. With no touch icing there's even some playing time saved as referees don't need to wait for the defender to skate over and touch the puck.

Missed the first two periods but watched the goals at NHL.com. Good thing they put highlights up so fast. I can't wait for Tatar to become a regular and score more goals - he's so darn cute when he's celebrating. If I were there on the ice congratulating him I couldn't help but pinch his cheek. -
I missed you so much. Edit: Oh yeah and those lines are rather OK by me. I would have the third and fourth like this: Hudler-Helm-Bertuzzi Brunnstrom-Abdelkader-Eaves Miller, Emmerton When Mursak comes back and if there are no injuries I'd waive (or trade) whichever forward has been least useful. Probably Miller or Emmerton.

Another instance when I think Babcock is overreacting. Same thing with the Smith vs Smith incident. Is he trying to manipulate someone? Detroit Free Press -
I'm very happy that there are so many young potential top 6 forwards in the system: Nyquist, Tatar, Jarnkrok, Pulkkinen, Jurco. In the last 3-4 years all the forwards who've made the team have been bottom line grinders (Helm, Abdelkader, Mursak).

This might happen. Sounds very realistic. Not many want to see a player passing out and hitting his head to the ice without helmet on.

The day Shanahan bans fighting from the NHL I'll start listening to hip hop.

Violence is fun but head injuries are serious. Maybe "tough" guys could implement hitting the belly and kicking the crotch into their tactics.
