Shane Doan is the only player left from Winnipeg of 1995-96. He has never been traded and next season he will be playing against Winnipeg.
-
At least they have good teams that compete for playoff spots.

It's on. Has everyone got their tissues? -
Here's a video of Danny wrestling with policemen in Russia: http://www.lifesports.ru/news/19520 This incident cost him his job with Dynamo.

Of course they are related. Haven't you heard how small of a place Russia is?

This is so cute. "Andre" Markov, the sleazy French cousin with Russian roots. I can already imagine the moustache and the cane.

I read somewhere that he's started to become very vocal on the bench and has these leadership qualities. I guess this is why he wore "A" once this season when if I remember correctly Datsyuk and Draper weren't playing. Of course he lacks the grace of Lidström, but almost everyone does. I think Kronwall can be number one, but unlike Lidström, he wouldn't be a clear one.

NHL.com: "Norris nods go to Lidstrom, Chara and Weber"

Thanks. Never seen him talk that much before.

Unfortunately I don't have anything done fitting the latest topics, but I just wanted to dust off some old ones. (I've got nothing against Crosby, this was actually inspired by the numerous Crosby threads here)

I'm not a Nostradamus, but I think Hiei wrote some good points. For the last few years Blues have been in a "bubble". They haven't made the playoffs, but they also haven't sucked enough to get the highest draft picks á la Penguins, Blackhawks and Capitals. If and when Blues rise to be a contender again they can be proud of doing it without getting Crosbys, Ovechkins and Kanes for free.

I agree. We have to look no further than Wayne Gretzky to see that a great player isn't automatically a great coach. I can't see Holland hiring a coach with no previous experience. Is it a coincidence that so few successful NHL head coaches were successful players?

If Wings had Hasek of 1994-99 as a goalie there would still be critics.

Yzerman has to win the GM of the year award. I think the stability and respectability he has brought to their organization is just as important as the good trades and signings he's done.
