It seems to me that if Wings played against say Anaheim or San Jose, they would bring their killing instinct on the ice and bury those changes. The uninspiring Panthers make Wings sluggish. ...aand they get a too-many-men penalty.

I wonder if we'll ever see a goal in this game. Panthers are bad and Wings are a bit sloppy.

Bertuzzi seems once again really clumsy there, skating in slo-motion and making ineffective decisions. Filppula probably will replace him when his hand heals. Good period for the Wings though.

Amen. Not often can we see a player giving a stick to the audience when he is in the spotlight like that. This could've happened at any arena as all you need is one moron. Especially while it's not after the pre-game skate but after the game when more people have gotten drunk.

I agree. I just thought that the part of the helmet which is covering forehead would've taken a big part of the blow.

I feel bad for Niedermayer standing there in the spotlight and seeing what goes on "because" of his stick.

I don't completely agree with you, but I see where you're coming from. I wonder if they really help theirs team and give them momentum when everyone knows that they're going to go at some point. Now it's more like their fights act as short intermissions during games and don't have anything to do with how the game has been going. Hey maybe May and Barch could stay on the ice after periods and fight for 15 minutes until next period starts so the fans would have something to watch between periods too. Wasn't there talk at some point last season that players will start getting suspensions from preplanned fights?

I think the way he went down looked too weird to be acting.

Strange. You'd think Dorsett's helmet would've protected him. Usually they do, when players heads hit the glass. It wasn't that he went chin-first into the boards either.

Nevermind. He's still cool and had quite a career in the NHL.
