Oh no. World unfair.

Come on, it was a freak accident. You don't expect anyone to be injured when you hit them in the head.

There was no comment from Holland or anyone else on that article, so I wouldn't say that he hasn't impressed. Babcock has said some good words about Eaves when he's played. The Wings are quite stacked on their lower lines especially now with May's signing. That's good as it should keep the players awake. Eaves has to earn his roster spot along with May and Abdelkader and Maltby and Draper can't take their spots for granted anymore. It seems that lately May has been put on the roster only when it seems that his toughness is needed. Buffalo and L.A. aren't known for their enforcers so he sat those games.

Osgood is starting. Howard will play during the five-game road trip which starts next Thursday in Phoenix. Other teams they will face on the trip are COL, VAN, EDM and CAL. May, Draper and Maltby will play tonight, so most likely either Abdelkader or Eaves will be scratched. Source: http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...k_to_sit_1.html

Wings traded Quincey to Dallas, but because of his herniated disc he didn't pass the physical and the deal was nixed. This forced Wings to waive him. http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009/10/th...d_wings_ha.html

I like the way you write. It's refreshing after all the usual fighting sucks/Red Wings suck debate.
-
Wow. I think we agree.
-
You're silly. What Dryden criticized was that fighting is often defended by saying that it's a way for players to vent their aggressions and by allowing it the players won't have to do something really dangerous. He criticized the way that fighting is often defended. While there are other legal ways for players to vent their aggressions they choose fighting. So that is not an explanation to why players fight. I'm not sure if it even needs to explained.

That's a very interesting text. I enjoyed reading it as it brings many interesting points by going deeper under the surface of things. Thanks for posting it here. By the way, you just happened to open a can of worms.

I've experienced similar stuff, but the problems almost completely disappeared when I bought a faster connection. My former connection was behind its time anyway and the one that I have now isn't even nearly the fastest one out there.

Here's some older Shanahan controversy about his departure from Red Wings (Mlive, Oct 10, 2009): http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009/10/pr...ngs-relate.html

Even with Franzén out Wings have 14 forwards (Abdelkader included) so there probably won't be many call-ups. Unless of course there's many injuries.
-
I've also experienced some buffering with Hockeystreams this season. I haven't yet singled out what the problem is though as it can also be my connection or computer. I've read that Hockeystreams has just updated its infrastructure.
-
This is like the Caps game never happened.
-
Only two weeks. Franzén should visit the same hospital. (or is it because their injuries are different?)
-
Marian Hossa (of course, but my other two picks would probably be easier to fit under the cap) Kyle Quincey (so, he turned out to be quite good after all) Slava Kozlov (he'd be so nice to have especially now when Franzén's hurt, besides I've always liked him)

Well I don't. I was just pointing out a meaningless fact. What do you mean misleading? I meant that I don't think that his GAA and SV% were never under 3 and over 90 during '08-'09. His '07-'08 stats were great, something like 2.20 and 92%. Edit: I meant "under 3 and over 90" during '08-'09.
