I hoped it would've had lead into something more. Luckily they'll still meet at least five times this season. The scrum happened 0.5 second before the end of the game so it didn't really matter where they put the faceoff. I don't think Pronger knew the time though. There could've been something like five seconds left and then it would've been dumb. I guess he just went mad and when Pronger is mad his only brain cell automatically shuts itself down.

Blocked a shot on the PK and hurt his leg. Shortly after that Hawks scored.

I agree on the first two, but after that I'm not really sure. At least Williams, Kronwall and Draper had good games. That's true and it makes me want to kill.

I agree, the opinion of random bunch of people is very often the stupidest thing. This is one of the weaker sides of democracy. The real player-of-the-game voting done by journalists (?) is something that I usually agree with much more.
-
Sure I recognize that, but I just don't understand how Zetterberg was voted the best player while Osgood or Stuart weren't even in the top three. BTW, I wonder if I'm opening a can of Jake Ryan now (luckily you can block users here), but of Wings' forwards Holmström had third least ES ice time, but also had second most PP time.

I'm very glad about Wings winning, but once again they started to sit back on a two-goal lead in the third period. They were outshot 15-4. Luckily they were much sharper in their own zone that against St. Louis.

I agree. I don't understand how Zetterberg was voted by fans to be the best player as he's had lots of troubles getting his passes on tape. Of course he was good especially in PK, but I wouldn't say he was the best Wing tonight.
-
That's ridiculous. Of course there are ups and downs in every season of every team.

When your goalie plays great you don't have to dominate to win the game. It's still weird how when Red Wings play PK they don't really seem to do anything wrong, but when you look at for example Chicago's PK they are calmer and much more in control of the situation.

Maybe those checks are quite dangerous, but they look great anyway. They are not something you'd expect from Lebda. That was not Langkow's greatest night for sure. First he gets checked by Lebda of all people and then he shows how well he could take it by resorting to a sucker punch.

Thanks. I hope Leclaire keeps doing fine in Ottawa. He was great in 07-08 with 9 shutouts, but last season he was injured and when he got healthy Mason had stolen his job for good.

Thinking quickly PHI seems to be quite nicely balanced team, strong on all areas, whilst WSH has super strong individuals on offence, but weak goaltenders. This amounted to a high-scoring game tonight. Well they allowed five goals which is never good, but four of them were either by Ovechkin or Semin. By the way, how was the OTT-TOR (2-1) game? I saw only the stats and it seems that TOR couldn't get any pressure until the end and then it was too late.

PHI win in OT. A dirty scrappy goal by Daniel Briere. It's his 32nd birthday.

The Pylon refers to every Detroit defenseman who isn't in the current top 5. It also has momentarily referred to Stuart or Kronwall.

"Emery is a huge boxing fan and, if recently leaked photos are any indication, his new mask will honor Philadelphia boxing greats like Bernard Hopkins, Joe Frazier and even Rocky Balboa." Link Scott Fartsmell. WSH 5-5 PHI

Me too. Sometimes I feel bad for goalies when it happens, but I'm not very keen on either Emery, Theodore or Varlamov.
-
It's a goal and WSH leads again. WSH 5-4 PHI
-
WSH's fifth goal will be reviewed.

Semin. WSH 4-4 PHI

That's a very interesting stat. So it was 95-96 when there were this many goals scored the last time. Even Hasek whose GAA normally was close or below 2.00 had 2.83 that season. You can find many interesting changes from the numbers in that list like that the goals average rose by over one goal per game after the lockout.

That's the Brett Lebda effect.
