Even if I agree with you in some ways (Lebda has been subpar this far) I've never been into this complaining thing. To my ear unconstructive complaining is nasty. I think that if complaining isn't going to lead anything then it shouldn't be done. Now I'm wondering if this post is complaining or just neutral mentioning. I tried to keep this neutral. I get an awkward feeling if whiny thoughts try to come out of me and I try to keep them inside. I have this rubber ball on my desk which I squeeze every time I see a Wings player screw up or find something stupid posted on LGW.

Yep. Osgood and Howard make mistakes too, but they're bloody cheap. To sign a mistake-free goalie (let's imagine they exist and are available) you have to trade one of the top four D's away and then you have play both Lebda and Meech (or some other of their caliber). Wings are lucky that Ericsson is still in his rookie contract. He'd deserve 2-3 times more.

Sure sure. I already agreed that he has played bad, but still he wasn't the only Wing on the ice. You already wrote that Lebda isn't the only one to blame as Howard should be able to save those kind of shots. Penalty killing and goaltending are among their biggest problems and Lebda doesn't have much to do with those things.

Lebda has the ability to be a very good 3rd pair defenseman like he was for example in last season's playoffs. Just like last season, he has started this season bad. It's not like one player who plays 10 minutes a game can have that big an inluence to the outcome.

Tough question, but I still think that this thread is necessary. I wonder if Wings will win any games this season unless they trade Franzén away.

I think it's a widely known fact that maybe Nashville and Detroit are the only teams in Central that haven't improved from last season. That's just in theory of course. We'll have to see how things turn out.

23 shots... Every defensive screw-up seemed to lead into a goal. The Kariya goals were tough shots by the way. But yeah, in the long run Osgood's SV% should be over .900.

I wonder if we'll see Lebda-Meech as the 3rd pair in the next game.
