For me to hate I need a proper reason. No hockey player has ever done anything to me. Samuelsson I like. I think he was a very good third liner with a minimal salary and some great top-corner goals. He wasn't that bad on the powerplay either. Claiming so is just a stupid habit in LGW. He was no Rafalski, but do you think that Stuart or Ericsson have his offensive skills? Sure he missed the goal at times with his shot or shot straight at the goalie. He had a hard shot and was told to shoot often by coaches. He was better shooter than a stick handler or passer so why not? It's not like Zetterberg or Datsyuk never miss the goal or shoot at the goalie.

Does it make you feel big and strong to act mean in the internet? Samuelsson was a Red Wing and I can never hate a Red Wing.

f*** everyone at LGW Forums who hated him.

I remember hating Saku Koivu back in the mid nineties. He was the poster boy for hockey in Finland and was in all these commercials from youth sports movements to toothpaste. His team also beat my favourite team in the Finnish Elite League finals in '95. It's almost like a déjà vu now with you know who. Since then I learned to tolerate Koivu and now I'm quite indifferent. Luckily my team won gold in '92, '94, '96 and '97. In '95 when Finland won their only gold in the world championships there was a line of Koivu, Jere Lehtinen and Ville Peltonen and they were called "Huey, Dewey and Louie". Peltonen scored a hat trick in the final against Sweden. They all were in their 20's and left to NHL for the next season. Sami Kapanen and few other youngsters were part of the team too and moved to play in North America with varied success.

Six years, 30 millions. That's not crazy unlike Gaborik's deal with NYR.

You can only see what's happening on the ice. How can you tell from that the work of one of the coaches? Was he even responsible of Red Wings' defense? BTW, in Atlanta Ilya Kovalchuk, Bobby Holik, Marian Hossa and Mark Recchi all wanted McCrimmon to be the head coach.
-
I think a motivated Kovalev would be great, but do you really think that a team could get him by just $2.5 millions?

"Yes, I killed him. I killed him for money - and a woman - and I didn't get the money and I didn't get the woman. Pretty, isn't it?" -- Walter Neff (Double Indemnity, 1944)

I liked him and was disappointed when he was waived.

Can you hear me?! Might Putty!

I went away for a few minutes. Was there a mention on Rajala on the broadcast? Edit: Ach, now. The analyzer pronounced his name like "Rachala".
-
Can you hear me!? Buy the AUGER! A long break ahead. What players are you still waiting to get drafted? I can name only Rajala. Edit: Oh, Edmonton got him. Someone here expected that.

He's schizophrenic! He likes both Red Wings and Crosby.

Hockeysfuture.com: Gleason Fournier Talent Analysis Talented offensively, the problem for Gleason Fournier is that he is a defenseman first and foremost, but sometimes he doesn't play like one. Able to make quick decisions with the puck and move it well, he sometimes struggles in his own end, especially when under pressure. A valuable tool on the power play, at 6'0 and 174 pounds, he would benefit tremendously if he can get larger and stronger on his skates in the coming years. A soft North American...

After Detroit next pick (90th) the next one won't be until the 5th round (150th).

Andrej Nestrasil Left Wing Born Feb 22 1991 -- Prague, Czech Rep. Height 6.02 -- Weight 194 -- Shoots R 2008-09 Victoriaville Tigres QMJHL GP 66 G 22 A 35 P 57 PIM 67 Hockeysfuture.com: History 2008-09: This was Nestrasil’s rookie campaign in the QMJHL, and he had quite the first season with the Victoriaville Tigres. In 66 games, the winger from Prague tallied 22 goals and 35 assists. Talent Analysis Nestrasil's ability to make plays at high speed allows him to surprise his opponents and catch opposing defensemen flat-footed. At 6'2 and 194 pounds, Nestrasil has decent size, but he still has some work to do in adapting to the physical style in North America and playing a more complete game.

Nestrasil... Who? Another forward.
-
Oh, the 75th pick was originally Florida's...
-
Didn't Nill talk about wanting defensemen? I wouldn't be surprised if the next pick is a D.

Jay Bouwmeester's Rights traded to Calgary
P. Marlowe replied to Heroes of Hockeytown's topic in General
I think last summer Tampa did it with Radim Vrbata who later went back to Czech Republic. They also traded for Brian Rolston's rights but couldn't get the deal done with him. -
Possibly... I found a website that says he's 178 cm which is about 5'11. Speculation, speculation.
