Is there enough cheap-shots on star players in the NHL that teams would need enforcers to protect them? Detroit has played stretches without an enforcer and nothing's gone wrong. It's more likely to lose a game because your enforcer can't play hockey well enough than that your star player is injured because he wasn't protected.

I think he was a character. Somehow I feel like there were more interesting goalies in the 90's. Potvin, Belfour, Hasek, Hextall... Maybe when the equipment gets smaller we will see goalies with different playing styles again.

That was mentioned. There is a link to an article about it. But what about the Coffey's gaffe? I can't remember it because I was rather young then. Was it like these empty-netters, or was Osgood still in goal?

I've understood that Wild's coach didn't like him and they were too close to the salary cap. They signed Owen Nolan and Antti Miettinen and perhaps also had to resign someone with a salary raise. If i remember right it was Bouchard. What I don't get is why no team picked Parrish up after he was kicked from Wild. There might be something else that I don't know.
