When I first heard that Lilja will be out of tonight's game I thought it was because of his foot that he hurt against Rangers. I hadn't learned yet about his tummy.

People were screaming at him because he skated slowly because he blocked a shot with his foot and that hurt him.

NHL.com says that the attendance was 20066... Do the season ticket owners get counted every game even if they don't show up?

Wings aren't playing their best at all, but still they won the team with most points this far. I understand that the game makes some people so emotional that they start to whine, but really you shouldn't worry about the Red Wings. At least not yet, wait 'til next spring.

Does anyone if there's an online stream with Red Wings' announcers? I'd rather listen to them than the ones of Rangers.

There's a good chance hat that's just what happened especially since it was Brenden Morrow. He is an interesting player, not Lady Byng worthy, but not dirty either. It's just that he'd do anything to win and he was one of Stars' best players last spring.

This is a video shot by a fan from the stands, so I'm sure NHL gets better angles when they're reviewing this. Referees know that they can't make stuff up because things that happen on the ice are documented by cameras and witnessed by many. Here's a better angle of Morrow tripping Peca (at 4:10) and I agree too that him falling down didn't really affect his defensive play. Maybe it should've been a penalty though. What you can't see in this video is what Peca did to the referee.

You can't really tell from that video what he actually did.

I don't hate him. I've never hated hockey players (Claude Lemieux came pretty close). I think Lilja is a good 3rd pair defenceman. Has it been 24 hours already? Edit: From the LGW News: "If Quincey goes unclaimed past 12 noon Monday..."

I think Babcock or Holland said somewhere that they're trying to get Osgood to start about 50-55 games. That would make it 2/1. Last year was a split because Hasek was injured so much. When Hasek was healthy he played more than Osgood.

They're not the worst ever not even close. By the way, imagine that Canadiens' jerseys had big "HABS" in front.

I liked the older one more. I've always liked his mask and that he's had the same look for years. His mask is very recognizable, in a way like Roy's mask was when he was in Canadiens. At least we can all agree that his mask looks better than his dfaft day moustache.

I suppose they know their team better than the people here do.

I think most of the names are alright, but animals for team names have a little childish tone for me, no matter how tough the animal might be. Considering the whole image (name, logo and uniform) of a team I like the older ones more. All of the original six are nice and I also like Flyers, Islanders, Flames, Oilers, Canucks, Sabres and Blues. I don't like the cartoonish elements of teams like Ducks, Panthers and Sharks. Of newer teams I like Wild's uniforms, with their retro look and Senators' image is nice too. While I don't think Blue Jackets' image is cartoonish I still think it's ugly. BTW, how does the name Red Wings reflect Detroit's car industry?

I'm Finnish so I'll add my words to this one too. This is difficult, as some Finnish words can't really be written in English the way they are pronounced. In Finnish there is only one way to pronounce each letter, but in English you can pronounce letters differently depending on what letters are around it. I haven't heard how announcers say Leino's name, but at least Filppula's sounds usually a bit strange. These come close, but are not exactly right: Vil-lay Lay-no Valt-teri Filp-poolah About other players, for example Sami Salo is an easy one, it's usually pronounced right, just say it as it's written. On the other hand Teemu Selänne (yes, it's with an "ä") is pronounced in a very different way in Finnish.
