He's funnier than Sid the Non-Comeback Kid.

Remember back in '08 when before the first SCF game Marc-Andre Fleury who was the goalie for Penguins tripped over when entering the ice? This was few years before he went to play for Dynamo team in Moscow.
-
Thanks. It sounds like that uniform is the one for the Winter Classic too.

Amen. That's true. Still it wouldn't even matter as everyone makes mistakes. They are being made too big a deal here. Red Wings made mistakes this spring and managed cope in spite of them. There are only three people in the world at the moment who don't make mistakes and they are Lidstrom, Datsyuk and Zetterberg.

That's kinda true. In playoff overtimes there are almost no penalties called even though the game doesn't really change. It was bad luck that that one was called. Still it was reckless and unwise from Hudler.
-
I too think they have a good chance to make the playoffs, but they will propably have hard time with the toughest teams of West. I think every team is capable of making the playoffs. Surprises can happen. Atlanta did it in 2007.

That was a bad mistake, but he still was good enough to play on the 4th line. He isn't Datsyuk, but he isn't Downey either.

Come to think of it, that article doesn't really tell you anything. I doubt they will be last though, with Pavol Demitra in their line-up. Edmonton is still there and Colorado has propably gotten worse.

I even edited some parts of the translated result to proper English as it was nonsense or didn't know the words (I know some Swedish), but I'm not really sure what Vancouver being hot is supposed to mean. They can have a great all-Swede first line now.

Toronto had two choices: either offer a bigger contract to Sundin or sign Finger. Google translator translated the article:

Dang. I thought that he wanted to win. Maybe there wasn't any good teams left with cap space.

Luckily Wings has a rational coach who gave Hudler ice time as he made many important plays during playoffs. Hockey games and championships are won by scoring goals and that's what Hudler did.

Da. I live in a neighbour country.

It's the 20th in Russia already.

This is a good thread. Now, what do you all think about Mikael Samuelsson? What about Robert Lang? Oh, which one do you think is better, Hasek or Osgood?

Especially with some new teams 3rd jersey seems an ok idea, but I don't see why Red Wings should have one. I think Minnesota's 3rd jersey looks good as I like the vintage style on their other uniforms too. The three first logos on that website are alright as logos, but not as Red Wings logos. If there must be another jersey, then I think the old Red Wings logo from 1931-33 might work on it. I found it here: http://www.sportspool.com/hockey/teams/log...gs1931-1933.php On EA Sports NHL games there is a 3rd jersey for Wings with red and white stripes. Have these ever been used as 3rd jerseys?

Does anyone here remember that Franzén was the center of the second line and Filppula was a winger? Do you still think that Filppula is the number 3 center? It's not so simple at all. There are many possible combinations as many of you have stated that there are 7 forwards who can be on the top two line. Filppula might be a perfect fit with Hossa or not at all, but how on earth anyone here can yet write anything about that? I think Filppula has potential to be a good playmaker and on paper a line that has a playmaker, a power forward (Franzén) and a sniper (Hossa) sounds good. We'll see.

That's only what the fans have been talking. Holland's said all summer that Chelios will be signed. I thought that it would've happened after the training camp, but I guess not then.

Valterri Fillpulla.

What's your opinion on Darren McCarty?

He was such a force 10 years ago during the big rivalry of Red Wings and Avalanche. I felt a little sorry for him during the sweep of this year's playoffs. I mean as much as I can be sorry for a player of a rival team and considering that it's only his career that's in danger, not his life.

NHL.com article If I'm not completely wrong Conklin can't be sent to Grand Rapids without going through waivers first. He'd be most likely lost there. So, I wonder if Holland and co. are thinking after the training camp that if Howard is good enough to be in the NHL this season then they can afford to let Conklin go.
