And none of them are/will be hall of famers.

Does this team get 110 points in the 2010-11 regular season with any combination of Greiss/Niittymaki? [ ] Yes [X] No
-
And they think he's got top four potential! This is what happens when the two teams only see each other once or twice a year. A healthy scratch/seventh D that goes between Detroit and Toronto in the off-season, and gets a savior-like reputation in the new city? With that storyline, I'd have thought we signed Exelby.
-
If Ritola's waived, I'm sure someone picks him up and he turns into the forward version of Kyle Quincey. Miller's a good insurance policy for the fourth line. Eaves is better at a lot of the things needed for fourth liners, but IIRC Miller has a deft breakaway/penalty shot touch. All in all: Meh. Could be a lot worse.

Well done on the banner.

If it's allowable, can someone make a new top banner with Probert photos for LGW? I have no skill in these things.

The Buchberger fight at about 1:20 is embarrassing for Buchberger... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSuRKuu_n7A&feature=related

Simply unbelievable. He'll be missed all over the world of hockey.

Legal fees don't count under the cap. If they work it like the Rangers did when Cherepanov died and get a draft pick out of it, double bonus. :ripchicagogoaltending.gif:

Yzerman was never pushed out the door by anyone, and never would have been. Dallas doesn't understand traditions and the importance of a "face" to the franchise. Modano has given his life to the franchise, and they aren't even giving him one last year when he feels he can still contribute. Put it this way: did it hurt Gordie's legacy to play in the WHA? Bobby Hull? No, we always think of them as Wings or Hawks. Mike Modano should retire when he feels like it. I don't think he feels like retiring now. That's why he's keeping the door open.

Capgeek says Hawks currently have nine contracts left to sign with $4.6 million left in cap room. The only way they get out of this is by burying Huet. And signing 10 mediocre guys as replacements for the Byfugliens and Versteegs.

Look, the cap is the cap. Some players on the other side of the ledger are going to have to go in order for the World's Greatest Defence Ever Assembled to take the ice. That means the offence will be affected in some way, whether it's dealing a top six guy or even dealing two defencemen for picks in order to come close to fitting under the cap. But maybe you're right and we're all wrong. For your enjoyment, I'll include a link to Keith Ballard's greatest NHL playoff moments: Here. I'll also include a link to the greatest hits of the second round for Dan Hamhuis: Hammer. And finally, here's some footage from the Canucks' last Stanley Cup parade: Canucks parade.

Hamhuis, Ballard, Tambellini, Oreskovich and Malhotra instead of Mitchell, Bernier, Wellwood, Demitra, Lukowich and Grabner. Such vast, wild improvement hasn't been seen since the Kings added Denis Gauthier. AUTO-GENERATED CAPGEEK.COM LINES FORWARDS FORWARDS Daniel Sedin ($6.100m) / Henrik Sedin ($6.100m) / Ryan Kesler ($5.000m) * Mason Raymond ($3.000m) / Manny Malhotra ($2.500m) / Mikael Samuelsson ($2.500m) Alexandre Burrows ($2.000m) / Cody Hodgson ($1.667m) / Darcy Hordichuk ($0.775m) * Jannik Hansen ($0.600m) / Victor Oreskovich ($0.575m) / Rick Rypien ($0.550m) Joel Perrault ($0.510m) DEFENSEMEN Dan Hamhuis ($4.500m) / Keith Ballard ($4.200m) Sami Salo ($3.500m) / Alexander Edler ($3.250m) Christian Ehrhoff ($3.100m) / * Shane O'Brien ($1.700m) Aaron Rome ($0.750m) GOALTENDERS Roberto Luongo ($5.333m) / Cory Schneider ($0.900m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (these totals are compiled using the bonus cushion) ROSTER: 22; CAP: $59.4m; CARRY-OVER PENALTY: $0.090m PAYROLL: $59.200m; BONUSES: $0.850m; CAP ROOM: $1.050m This is with Hanson getting a miniscule $50,000 raise, ignoring the Tambellini deal, turning the Bieksa and Alberts contracts into dust, and giving $3 million to Raymond and $1.7 million to O'Brien, which is roughly what they'll get in arbitration if the Canucks are lucky. Is this really any better than the team that lost in the second round last year?

Stevie Y did take Pat Verbeek with him, so I have to go with Steve. Nah, Ken and the Winged Wheel. And it won't even be close. The Bolts are still about three years from becoming the next Penguins.
-
Except Marty McSorely. All my online sources indicate Voros has one more year left on his deal.
-
Very true. Boogaard, Voros, Prust, Brashear. I don't know who all these guys are going to fight, though, even with Konopka and Clarkson in the division. Add Avery in the mix, and I don't know that the dressing room got any happier or more cohesive since the end of the season.
-
And another one gone, another one gone... JeffMarek Rangers sign Brandon Prust.
-
Real_ESPNLeBrun Mike Modano via text message says Red Wings only team to call so far but said, ``if there is only one not a bad one to be.'' EDIT Me talking: I have no idea why teams don't want this guy as a positive veteran voice in the dressing room. Does everyone else just assume he only wants to play in Detroit?
-
One more thug out of the mix: NHL_Oilers Big Mac is back! #Oilers sign F Steve MacIntyre to a 1yr contract: http://bit.ly/ba7mhm
-
Note to all UFAs: If Kenny doesn't want you, it's because you suck.
-
Isles nab four today: JeffMarek Isles today sign Mark Eaton, P.A Parenteau, Milan Jurcina and next accoring to @katiestrangNYI Zenon Konopka.
-
Me, too. So he can quickly turn them into a non-contender.

Umm, does this count for free agent chat from twitter? simmonssteve Confirmation Bryan Colangelo has lost his mind - $34 million for six years for Amir Johnson. As Swirsky used to say: Are you kidding me?
-
From the official Ducks Twitter feed: Murray on Bobby Ryan: "We increased our offer yesterday on Bobby Ryan, went to five years at $5 million a year." How can he turn that down?
