Brock Lesnar > Arron Asham
-
The Archibald incident seems out of character for him. 62 PIM in 57 games this year doesn't suggest he's prone to too many meathead moments. The Barrie-Windsor thing is so personal on so many levels, that might have played an impact on his decision.
-
I think he's going to find that division is a lot more physical with their goaltenders. I can't see him lasting any longer than Emery, and he'll cost a lot more. I could see him doigng well in a plce like Dallas more than Philly. But who knows. If the Flyers don't get him, maybe the Hawks will try to fit him in in their negative cap room.

The Wings have had worse drafts (Hobday, ahem). Like last year, not a home run here but a good solid, two-RBI double.
-
Is it too late to pick John Kordic in the first round?
-
I think that's actually a pretty good deal IYAM.
-
Damn it. He'll do nothing but good things for the Bruins. But... "...He’s got a dimensional shot..." - Peter Chiarelli. WTF Chia?

I see your Drury and raise you a Redden.

As Red Wing fans, we're not used to paying guys like Pavelski beacuse he's relatively young while being a good fit on any of their top six, He had 59 points two years ago and 51 (in 67 games) last year. He's 26 and certainly not on the downswing. My thought as well was that with these deals, Thornton might be gone as soon as the summer, to try to get a starting goalie with a slightly smaller cap hit. They can't honestly be thiking Turco or Emery or (insert mediocre starter here) will be good enough when the chips are down. I would think there is still an interested market for a 6'5" first line centre who gets 90-100 points a year, even if he doesn't give a s*** in the playoffs.

^^^^^I'm not even watching the show, but this.^^^^^

At $3 million, Fugly is overpaid, but he'll still score some goals and have some value. The kid has some heart, I'll give him that.

I don't hate this trade for Atlanta's perspective. They clearly need to change the culture in that dressing room, so why not shuffle in some Cup champs. Still hasn't gotten rid of their three worst contracts (Huet, Campbell, Sharp). They'll need to dump at least two of these guys to have any depth at all. (channeling Downgoesbrown) "Sir! You forgot your change, sir!"

A very good point when it comes to leadership. Steve and the Wings had their moments but I don't know that he woudl have ever considered playing for another team while he was captain of the Wings. In fairness to Sakic, that was a hell of an offer. Wasn't it $15 million first year, two million each next two years?
-
So I guess they actually will try to re-sign Marleau.
-
Maybe the Wings should save $1.5 - $2 mil to make a deadline move and upgrade? I'd hate to see us spend right up to the cap and have another eight players on the IR in December. Get an Asham or Nystrom, and maybe resign Lilja at #6. Work on getting a higher value of non-roster players like Janik that can fill in for a dozen or so games as needed. Then at the trade deadline, try to nab that Hamhuis-type that might have helped us against the Sharks.

Me too. I really get the feeling this was the last chance they had before it's a posthumous induction in 2011. But I'm really glad for Dino.

I want us to take a good, long look at Oleg Petrov.

NHL Awards Show sounds like it is going to be horrible

So now you hate half of Hollywood blondes, aged 20-45? Come on, just like her for our legendary blueliner Nick Lindstrom. -
I thought he was talking about Mark Eaton.

The Lightning will be this year's LA Kings.

Isn't it a CBA thing that only one-year deals are allowed for signing Group VI players from overseas? That's why Swedish goaltender Monster Monstersson was only on a one-year deal last year, and the Leafs' new Monster goaltender (whom I've already forgotten) is only a one-year deal... There's been others, I'm sure.

Edmonton fans have routinely questioned Moreau's heart last year, especially down the stretch. He wasn't even effective defensively as a fourth liner for the worst team in the NHL. OK then, you say, he kills penalties. Edmonton's PK was fifth worst in the league last year, fourth worst in the league the year before. Clearly, he doesn't kill enough of them. Maybe we want him as a G.R. assistant coach. I don't want him with the Wings. But if we're basing our opinion on his desire and tenacity on the fact that he tried to punch a guy and missed four years ago, I'd honestly like to see the Wings look elsewhere. I don't care if he only makes league minimum next year..

That vid has gotta be fake like her chest, although that is a nice looking place for the ****** family to live. I generally get left alone during games and I always know where the remotes are.

Yeah, that Jack Skille's a real gamebreaker in the making, isn't he?

Sure! Didn't you read the thread? It means he's able to laugh at himself!
