Yup, sucker punches don't get anything in the playoffs for some reason. Carcillo does have one suspension at least under his blotter for that butt-end thing in the playopffs last year, which I'm sure had some influence. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/hnicplayof...s_over_the.html I don't think it's worth four games. But that said, this kind of crap makes me lose any respect I would have had for Carcillo.

Do we even know if the cap is going up next year? Lots of empoty seats all around the NHL, still no major television deal... I can't see how even clearing out Lidstrom's and Holmstrom's deals would create that much room if the cap were to go down.

Edmonton was twice as injured as the Wings were and the Wings looked turrible. Pat O'Sullivan shouldn't be scoring two goals against a Red Wings team unless the Wings have blinders on their helmets. Some players (AHEM, Ericsson, Maltby, Leino, Lebda, Meech) really need to step it up if they want to stay on the ice after the injured guys come back. -

Meech looked embarrassing out there. I felt bad for whoever was on the ice with him at any given time. The d-men were terrible tonight. Now would be a great time for a Brent Sutter-type practice where they learn to battle for the puck.

Whichever country has produced the great hockey talent that is Tomas Holmstrom must certainly be behind only Canada in terms of the greatest hockey country.

Not that I think Janik is a magic bullet that will stave off bad defensive play, but... Lids-Ericsson - 28 minutes Stuart-Rafalski - 20 min. Janik-Meech - 12 min. ... I still like him better than Meech at this point and Lebda would be a healthy scratch and bag skated every day in practice if I ran the D.

Must be May's and Babcock's fault Filppula and Williams are injured. And that stupid Franzen wouldn't have hurt his ACL if we had an enforcer at the time. We've had more injuries now than the last three years combined. Brad May is lazy and useless! SIGN KIMBO SLICE NOW, KENNY!!!!
