If he doesn't get signed before the start of the reason, are 30 general managers retarded?

Too bad they couldn't zip up his mouth while they were operating on him.

Islanders Pascal Morency suspended indefinitely
mjlegend replied to I Red Wings I's topic in General
Yo Morency, Ima let you finish, but Steve Downie's pre-season suspension was the greatest suspension of ALL TIME. I've got cash money that says Phaneuf doesn't square off with Morency or anyone else on the Isles the next time the Flames and Islanders play (March 25). I have less of a problem with what Morency did that with what Phaneuf did. -
I think the Bruins would go for Stuart for Chara, straight up. Maybe Kenny can get them to throw in a couple of second rounders since they'll have lots of picks from the Kessel deal. Then you can one of those second round picks to get Aaron Downey back from the "Released Coyotes", since the Wings haven't won a cup in the last 12 months without him.

Fleury's playing, right?

Ken Hitchcock wants to make the Wings "Bleed"
mjlegend replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Hockey's a funny game. If I called the Freep and told them I wanted Ken Hitchcock to bleed, I'd get federally investigated. -
Big games? I thought he played in Minnesota.

Let 'em play the first shift. Let pre-season determine if they stay together the whole game.

GDT 10/9/09 Detroit Red Wings v.s. Dallas Stars, Prospects Tournament
mjlegend replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
Slightly OT, but I think it would be deadly if Landon Ferraro got traded to Brandon (his dad's junior team where he scored 108 goals one year) this season for the 2010 Memorial Cup. Red Deer hasn't really had a good team since Brent Sutter was their coach. I'd love to see how many goals he could score with some great linemates like Brayden Schenn and Matt Calvert. -
Quinn may have been harsher on him since he wasn't 35 at the time. Ironically, I think he'd be a good fit as a #6 defenceman on the Oilers under Quinn now. I think retiring at this age takes him out of their cap. Might he come back later under a new, one-year deal with someone needing a depth defenceman> He might have some sort of record last season for most minutes played without an assist.

It would get my stamp of approval if it was red and white and had a winged wheel in the middle.

I hope the NHLPA realizes that salaries didn't go up this year by 10 per cent because the global economy is in a giant clusterf**k. Something tells me that wouldn't even cross the mind of your average Martin St. Louis-type. If Buzz Lightyear is elected in as the new leader, I guarantee there will be a strike.
-
I wondered if he taunted the goalie after that one.

Bump, for I too want to know how an injury-prone 40-year-old defenceman is a better option for a top-pair blueliner than a guy who was third in the league in points for D.

Here's the Downey fight clip we were looking for: He really knocked that guy the f*** out!

1. 2009 Wings 2. 2001 Devils 3. 2000 Stars 4. 2007 Senators 5. 2008 Pens 6. 2003 Ducks 7. 2004 Flames 8. 2002 Hurricanes 9. 2006 Oilers. 10. 2005 Bettmans The top three for me are really close. All three of those teams could have won the Cup had they played any of the bottom six teams on this list. Two years ago, I liked Ottawa's offense and thought they earned the East (They were 42-15-1 after a very slow start) by beating #1 and #2 in successive five-game rounds. For once, they didn't have to go through Tronna to get there. The 2008 Penguins were much more resilient than a lot of people give them credit for, given their crappy coach. Then you start getting to the Ducks (trapped out by the Devils, might have beaten a more free-flowing opponent), the Flames (trappy trap trap), Canes (steamrolled by the Wings, I can't even remember who they beat) and the Oilers, who learned to block shots for two months. I guarantee you, there are about 2,000 "PECA 27" jerseys in the basements of Edmonton-area homes collecting sawdust right now.

Lulz. You must be from Calgary. Bryan Murray might be a dumbass but if I'm getting $45 million/6 years, and I have the chutzpah to request a trade a year after requesting a NTC in my contract, I probably take the first NHL community that takes my goofy, gap-toothed face. What the Sens should do if nothing else works out is hide him in Binghamton for the year so that his ridiculous salary is off the cap. He wants ice time, he can have it there. He would have been a God in Edmonton.

Winner winner, chicken dinner.

GET IT DONE, KENNY! No, seriously Kenny if you or Jim Nill are reading - don't sign him or trade for him. Don't even think about it.

Yz-Howe-Terrible Lids-Kelly Sawchuk If we were going by Wings I've seen play live: Yzerman-Shanahan-Hull Lidstrom-Schnieder Lamothe I need to watch more games live.

You wanna settle old scores, you're on the wrong team. We move forward starting right now. We start becoming a team RIGHT NOW! Skating. Passing. Flow. Creativity. That is what this team is all about, gentlemen. NOT old rivalries. So, why don't we start with some introductions. You know, get to know eacother a little bit. Where you from. Who you are. Go ahead.

That look like hockey to you? Looks more like two monkeys trying to hump a football to me, I don't know.

So, I think I can now safely buy my #52 Ericsson jersey
mjlegend replied to stevkrause's topic in General
I kinda know what you mean, but it helps in identifying players inasmuch as it also helps to sell merch. Someone at a slo-pitch game had a Red Sox home 34 on the back (NNOB, obv) and I had to stop for a second to try to remember who it was. I thought about what the Blues did with Rich and Ron Sutter when they played: http://sports.webshots.com/photo/2934204290037655732sfvGTQ -

What happens if both Williams' make the team? They go to full NOB, or both just "WILLIAMS" or "J WILLIAMS"?
