But wouldn't you really want the Wings to stoke those regional rivalries with four games each against Vancouver and Phoenix?

Griffins Select a Pair of Fan Submitted 3rd Jerseys
mjlegend replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
That would have been my second choice, after the #2 one listed in the OP. Lots of great ideas, a lot of them are better than the third jerseys the NHL teams come up with. Muscle car = fail. and Czech national team knockoff (far left, second row from bottom) = fail. -
They're just waiting for Luke Schenn to develop into the role. Hanta yo! No, wait, those are Ron Wilson's other crappy teams. NVRMND. I kept waiting and waiting for the promised shake-up to happen in San Jose and it really never happened at all. Doug Wilson is in a very good position to deal for talent (Heatley? Kessel?) but they either don't want to give up the players who shat the bed in the playoffs (Nabokov, Marleau, Michalek) or they're in no hurry to change the chemistry on that team. I guess losing out in the first or second round every year must be good enough for them.

The OHL was probably a better league for him.
-
Wow. Danton/Jefferson has probably the worst record of picking leadership figures to trust. Before his gets to the second page, someone will be seriously asking why Kenny hasn't signed Danton to play on the third line.

I just puked in my mouth a little because there are people that are puking in their mouths over $400,000 for a third or fourth line forward. Rangers are a perfect fit for Prospal because of the whole buy-out situation and also Torts knows him. It's not that I don't think the Rangers got a good deal with him, and I also appreciate the importance of the guys on the third and fourth lines, but there's no no way in hell the signing of Vinny Prospal is worth vomiting about. But I just know by the end of the thread, it's going to turn out like that scene in Stand By Me.

Good on him for getting in shape and getting his life back together. Most guys couldn't drop 40 pounds if they were in London but he was fat, fat, fat when he played in Dublin. Getting rid of the coke and the booze has probably already extended his life. Here's a good clip of Fleury nearer his prime. He may also be broke. Looks like he's also returning to the only think that was making him good money in his life. http://www.fromtherink.com/2009/8/8/981803...te-truth-behind Darren McCarty just read that story and nodded his head...

Downey had 10 fights in 2007-08. http://www.hockeyfights.com/players/66 By the "12 fights and you're a goon" line in the sand, looks like they've won the cup before without a goon.

At Present Time Lidstrom Doesn't Plan to Retire after 09-10 Season
mjlegend replied to 40#1Fan's topic in General
Yzerman made ~ $1.25 million at age 40. Just saying, Nicklas.... In any event, I'd be happy to have him at just about any price. Just one year contracts after 09-10, please. -
Sportsnet: Hudler awarded 2 year deal 5m total; Still KHL bound
mjlegend replied to DatsyukownzU13's topic in General
Honest mistake. Maybe they were also in arbitration with Rex Hudler. -

Even classicer Bettman would have seen them somehow end up with John Tavares in the draft lottery. Daly: "But Gary, they weren't in the lottery!" Bettman: "So? Hey, while I was in Santa Fe pitching an expansion team last week, did NBC call? I'm hoping they'll want to re-up for a few more years now."

Yeah, you could fly a plane.

White for Kessel, even up?

Piss on the Eddie Shore Award!

I still think Luongo is a question mark with the money on the line, and although I respect Martin Brodeur's career both in the NHL and internationally, he'll be almost 38 next February, and with only two playoff series wins in the last five seasons. We're going to need a physical, punishing D in order to prevent rebounds or else we're not going to go very far.

Why I May Have It Worse Than Anyone Here
mjlegend replied to WingsFanInPensCountry's topic in General
And as I turn to the second page, I see ads for Penguin jerseys from google ads. FU, Sidney. I still hate you. -
Chicago should sign him to a multi-year pact.

Refs named for season's opening games in Sweden and Finland

Not bad choices. I like that Watson got the other series. -
Play Hossa off, Keyboard cat.

Everybody who ******* about Osgood should remember there's only about one team that's beaten him in the playoffs the last two seasons. Find the replacement for Osgood in the salary cap world and see how much he costs.

I think they pretty much all have to stay at the Athlete's VIllage unless there's a family emergency. Given the Munich massacre and today's "anti-terrorism" mindset, they probably don't allow anyone in or out of the village unless there's a serious situation. It won't be like Sakic saying "Come over to my place guys and wind down." IIRC Calgary was the last time the Olympics were played at an NHL facility, and it was the first time pros were allowed, but it was a USSR cakewalk. Canada didn't medal. Here's the roster from http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=259073 # 1 .. GK .. Sean Burke #35 .. GK .. Andy Moog # 2 .. D .. Tim Watters # 3 .. D .. Serge Roy # 4 .. D .. Tony Stiles # 5 .. D .. Trent Yawney # 7 .. F .. Wally Schreiber # 8 .. F .. Brian Bradley # 9 .. F .. Ken Berry #10 .. F.. Gord Sherven #11 .. F .. Steve Tambellini #12 .. F .. Serge Boisvert #13 .. F .. Ken Yaremchuk #14 .. F .. Marc Habscheid #15 .. F .. Bob Joyce #16 .. F .. Merlin Malinowski #18 .. F .. Claude Vilgrain #19 .. F .. Vaughn Karpan #21 .. D .. Randy Gregg #23 .. D .. Chris Felix #24 .. F .. Jim Peplinski #25 .. D .. Zarley Zalapski

Nothing personal against either of these two gentlemen, but I really hope the Wings face them in the playoffs next year. And every year until Hossa says "Uncle."

Tears? Yes that's probably just you. I haven't openly wept at much in the last few years and that certainly wouldn't trigger anything new. I'm waiting for a Lindros thread anytime now...

Thanks. At a glance, I may get to go to one of the games in Edmonton this year, which would effing rock.
