I don't think so but since the NHL is in the habit of rescinding game misconducts anyway, I'm sure he'll get his chance Wednesday to play three and a half pointless minutes no matter what he did.
-
Stuart ran him over early in the second. I didn't esee him since then.
-
I'll agree to disagree... He needs a hat trick. DO IT, MARIAN. DO IT. DO IT NOW.
-
I don't normally rate dudes, but Hossa is kind of an ugly guy with the semi-beard. Love it when he comes to play like he has today.
-
By the end of the Carolina series, there will likely be an article on that topic on NHL.com, as well as a series of Charmin commercials that will be played eight times a period on the NBC games.

I know I can always brighten your day by adding Downey to a thread where he doesn't belong - any thread involving the NHL playoffs. I don't really want Downey in. Leino's a fine choice although I would have also been pleased to see Helm moved up if Datsyuk is a no-go.
-
What did Bayda do to get the attempt to injure match penalty? I can't watch it here...
-
I'm never admitting failure! (But between you and me, I failed to spot him) We never played Hasek. My section of the thread was reserved for goalies who have beaten the Wings in the playoffs. Of the last 20 years, I would say only Hasek, Roy and Brodeur can qualify as truly elite goaltenders. There's no doubt all will go into the Hall. From there, there's a drop-off to guys like Osgood, Cujo and Belfour. Maybe you include Barrasso, Richter or Vanbiesbrouck. When you get down to Vernon, Moog and Sean Burke, you start to run out of the elite guys... I'm uncertain as to whether Luongo, Fleury, Nabokov and Kiprusoff are elite but if their careers were to end today, I think you can't include them on the elite list.

Well at least we know she has jealousy issues.

He is an excellent hockey player. I just dont' want to see his ads, nor watch him play hockey in front of an adoring Canadian media.
-
OK, I guess Brodeur too. 1991 Vince Riendeau 1992 Ed Belfour 1993 Felix 1994 Arturs Irbe 1995 Martin Brodeur 1996 Patrick Roy 1999 Patrick Roy 2000 Patrick Roy 2001 Felix 2003 Giggy 2004 Kipper 2006 Giggy Of those, only Brodeur and Roy can truly be classified as elite goaltenders, IMO.
-
Exactly, HoH, with the possible exception of Roy. Who was the Kings goalie who beat us in 2001? Garon? Not exactly a big name stopper... EDITED: Felix Potvin started in 2001. Now he's a hermit.

Perfect time to draw Aaron Downey back into the lineup.

I've seen every single team in the final four take dives. After the refs fell for the Pronger dive, I don't think the Wings' ones have been that egregious. The overexposure of Crosby (his mug was in the same two commercials over and over around All-Star Game-time) has created a backlash among a lot of hockey fans who see the game as a team sport. Even if he was approaching Gretzky-like dominance at the NHL level (which he isn't), I've seen too much of his face already without even seeing a puck drop.
-
Shame he didn't leave his real email, or else someone would have just signed themselves up to NAMBLA.
-
No love for Aaron Downey? I'd take Oz and Franzen over Cleary. I liked the two game winners in a row, but I'd like to see Cleary play a little bit more consistently good on offense before I give him MVP nod. I'd put him down behind Lidstrom if we're going on "so far" status.

I agree. I thank baby Jesus every day I don't play for the Red Wings. They're much better at playing hockey than I am. That's great advice you're dispensing out to the Hawks, but I would have a hard time believing Chicago has any confidence at all right now. Unless they play the best game of the season Friday, the series is more or less over.
-
Too late! Chicago, Schmicago. They're already in the rear-view mirror. Bring on the baby-faced little boy Sid so we can make him and Geno cry again!

FML if I give her any of my business. -
They might have 44 by the time Holland retires...
-
Jesus, listen to you spoiled louts. You make it sound like watching the Wings in the WCF is a chore. I'd watch hockey at 4 in the morning if it meant the Wings were playing.

Dunno. Maybe Pavel can use the wind to help him score against the Hawks again.
