I've been really disappointed with Duncan Keith the more I've seen of him this playoff, and Cam Barker's certainly had more than a couple of cases of brain flatulence.

Yeahh, ummm... who needs Ovie anyway?

Ovechkin hasn't been the same since the Gonchar hit. It's like it took both of them out for the playoffs. Oh, also Varlamov sucked on Saturday.

Sparky says "Win or die, *******!!!"

NHL and below teams fifth- and sixth-liners have been wearing black practice jerseys since Grapes coached. Or, it's a book with all the African-American pitchers who have won 20 games, as Jim "Mudcat" Grant displays.

So that's why they scheduled Dan O'Hellnodetroit for the pivotal game 5.

Interesting that they seem to be happy with 17-25 shots on goal, and that all they need to do is crosscheck some Wings to win. Are they mentioning that Getzlaf has to stop worrying about whether Jiri Hudler is diving and either lead his own team on the scoresheet or contribute in some other meaningful way? Watching him beaking Hudler gave me the impression the Ducks' best forward has been thrown way off his game, either by fatigue or frustration.

Yay for the shot blocking. Boo for the non goal-scoring by the team wearing red.

It might be the lack of sleep talking, but this absolutely kills me today. Excellent concept and execution.

But then Toronto would want one!

Chicago seems to play a real Wings-style game, except with much less depth at forward and their d-men pinch in way more. Otherwise, they're all about timing point shots at the same time as the forwards crash for rebounds. It's worked for them on Luongo much better than I thought it would. Byfuglien is their Holmstrom. I think the Wings can understand this system better than anyone I lulz @ the pantywaists in here who moan about staying up for a 10:30 p.m. start. EDIT: Being at work tired the next morning is a badge of courage.

I'd rather have a 2097 version of Kerry Fraser than this guy. At least Watson now thinks he has to even something up for us. My hope is that O'Drivebyvictim doesn't make the cut for the next round.

What would the Ducks do if Wiz was on the Wings and came back after a bruised lung? They'd elbow the living crap out of him, no? So if someone hits him on the boards hard, it's not exactly like the Ducks can put on halos.

He's so pissed off, you'd think this happened to his boy Sundin or something. I've never seen an agent jump into the fray when a player's injured.

My latest purchase was a Diet Pepsi.

I have to think this is a bit of an over the top reaction from police officials... http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_dadd...?urn=nhl,161962

That was a top-10, hall of fame rant, Mr. Yzerman. I salute you. Of all the things that happened that game, Wizz-in-my-pants-newski and the Ducks are picking that? Slow news day in Duck land.

I'm waiting for someone to say they'd be up 10-1 if they had Downey on the ice... Looked like the new combinations turned the period around. Credit to Babs and credit to the players for putting the extra jump in their step.

Jesus, I remember high school. Nobody at 17 is mentally stable. I thought this was going to turn out to be a drunk dude from some Wilmington bar on their Blackberry talking out of his ass. On second and third review, the "i don't care anymore" part sounded kind of ominous. How old was that DC sniper again?

Potential Disaster for the NHL in this Playoff Round?
mjlegend replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
I would suggest the league takes the path that doesn't favour a trapping team like Vancouver at the expense of a skilled team. It starts when the officials change what they call from October to May, which as you can see is happening from Colin Campbell on down to lowly lowlifes like Brad Watson. -

Potential Disaster for the NHL in this Playoff Round?

Fine, but you have to realize no one in the US cares about "Canada versus US". If you have to back to an NASL series from almost 30 years ago to find a point in time where Americans gave two s***s about anything not wrapped in the red, white and blue, you're probably reaching too far. For the NHL, marketing hockey to Canadians is a huge waste of resources. If the NHL wants low ratings, I suggest they continue with the Anaheim-Carolina path. 2-1 games aplenty, just like five of the last six finals.
