Yes, it's not like Ducks fans to get hung up on officiating. Because that would be like, terrible. Ducks fans are known for their unquestioning loyalty and unconditional support for their team, its coaches and its players.

Every now and then when poring over recent rosters, even for the Cup-winning teams, I look at the team and think "Oh yeah, that guy played for the Red Wings." It's either legitimate NHL regulars or guys the Wings have given a second chance. 1997 we had Dmitri Mironov. I'm totally spacing out on him when I think of that team. Just looking today in 1999, we apparently gave Petr Klima and Doug Houda another look. I completely missed that at the time. I could go on... Any others come to mind?

I would imagine TSN2 would pick up the Wings game if the Hawks/Ca-sucks game goes into OT. And I want a loooooooooong series in the other conference semifinal. 6OTs tomight, pls.

The last 60 minutes of that game, they really shut down the Getzlaf line. Even in the third period, they weren't really getting much. I thought the best defeceman in the game for either team was Stuart.

I don't know why the Downey fans can't admit that sometimes, a player "who plays on the edge" who then puts his team short a player with a suspension/major penalty, is doing his team a huge disservice by doing that. I don't want to go as far to say that this is an embarrassment to the organization, but there's no doubt something like this is a checkmark against him in Ken Holland's world. As for Probert, McCarty and Kocur, there came a time when their usefulness as fighters and enforcers completely outshon by their inability to play the game at a fast level. With the Red Wings in 2009, you have to be able to play hockey to get a regular shift. If they don't have that approach, I don't think the Wings would have won Friday against the Ducks, because we'd still be trying to goon in up and even up the cheap-shot.

The Rogers people are notoriously frugal with their money and downright nasty about promoting other stations. I think it goes back to TSN's application for TSN2 back in 2000 or something that was denied. TSN went with TSN-Alt and are using that license for TSN2, which is basically a timeshifting channel with a few minor exceptions (F1, NASCAR, etc). Not sure when it comes up for renewal, but it is certainly a very useful station to have when there's more than one thing going on and I'd miss it if it left. Anyway, the thing we need to learn from this is that the Toronto Blue Jays are lazy and they suck.

I've often thought the only thing wrong with the Lions was the 45 guys they dressed every week. If I had to start a franchise from scratch, I'd take one with a shiny new stadium that's sold out most of the time, and a pretty loyal fan base, all things considered. They must have done something right at some point if the fans keep buying season tickets and going to games. On second thought, maybe having an assistant coach going through drive-thru naked would probably be another thing I'd change.

It's an easy, early excuse for Hiller, who really didn't have to deal with much too traffic against the Sharks. I'm predicting he'll use the time change excuse for the Ducks' loss Sunday.
