Yeah it seems everyone is too proud to just admit pure defeat. There is always some excuse why they lost. In all 3 series so far, the wings were just the better, deeper team and depth will go a LONG ways in the long haul. Plain and simple the league is full of ******* who can't just admit clean defeat. What ever happened to sportsmanship?

LOL the fans didn't name us hockeytown, its a trademarked thing. On another note, you're right, the league doesn't center around the wings. It centers around crosby. Look at the commercials with clips from the finals last year. They make it look like the penis won.

So, in the Oakland press this morning i read this : "Out of the mouth" Johan Franzen did an unusual thing during game 4. During a break , the big winger skated over to Chicago's Patrick Kane and as the two exchanged words, Franzen pulled Kane's mouth guard out and tossed it on the ice. The mouth guard was half out of Kane's mouth as he jawed with Franzen. "It was right there, couldn't resist." Franzen said. Dan Cleary can be seen smiling in the replay. "I've never seen that," Cleary said. "It was only the three of us, the ref, the linesman, that really had a good feel for it. It was just funny how the whole thing went down. He (Kane) was mad." LoL, it was just kind of funny hearing franzen and cleary talk about it and I thought i'd share it. Also, awww Kane , YOU MAD?!?!?

Yeah but just cuz they're not skating means nothing. They do that all the time....injured players take the time off from practice then show their faces in the next game....could just be more resting time for them

I don't remember much griping because early in the season when our team was playing like crap, he was one of the only consistent D men besides Lids. He was always blocking shots, taking the body and clearing the front of the net.

I kinda think Q had a point on the call. They called roughing on the hawks player where there were players from both teams chirpin and shovin around. That call was a little weak...what they SHOULD have called was Kane coming in late, standing there spearing Franzen in the back with his stick, but franzen more than made up for it by stealing is mouthpiece lol. Seriously though that was the weakest call of the game when you got people chopping sticks out of wings hands while the stick flies 10 feet into the air and damn near landing on a ref, no call. You got Eager elbowing huds in the head for the whole 2nd half of the game after whistles and FINALLY they called and gave the 10 min misconduct....i mean they called a good game as far as not letting the hawks goon it up but they did still let things go. Calling this was the weakest thing to call considering what they were doing out there lol. I mean Queenville has a point bitching about how weak this is but not how he went about it, and really it doesn't matter anyways because the hawks were reaping what they sewed anyways. I just find it funny that the NHL fines him for calling out the refs. Just shows that they back up their officials no matter what. I"m just glad babs has the composure to be more cryptic in his shots at the league.

I got this email this morning containing what a co worker of mine sent to the NHL Officials office, and supposedly to Bettman Himself. Up until Havlat was found to be injured, the ref had no hand up which indicates that until he realized Havlat was hurt, there was no call made. You have become a Joke as a professional sport, and until you decide to take your own rules seriously and enforce them CORRECTLY there are a legion of fans who are willing to write you off. If Dan O''halloran is seen in detroit again I will personally give him a reason to hate us some more. How is it that a man who has publicly stated that he hates detroit after being shot here is allowed to ref games? Isn''t that a conflict of interest? It''s pretty bad when Vs and CBC announcers who are usually pretty biased against the wings are calling for Danny-O to be ejected from the league as a ref. While homer was being lazy it was actually because lids lost his stick and fil came in to hand him his leaving man open for the clean and clear rebound. The fact that one guy broke a stick and lids lost his should have been a red flag for homer to get his lazy ass back towards ozzie

I am in no way, shape, or form worried about this series. I feel that any uninjured or ejected for no reason players will Step it up in game 4. I'm expecting franzen/hank/hossa to come up big for some reason. In fact our forwards need to stop leaving all the goals to the Defense like last game....all three goals came from the D. While thats all fine, we need the guys paid to score...to well, score.

I know we won tonight but, thats not the point. I'm tired of gray areas in rules. Why is it ok for one team to do something repeatedly and then have the other team get called every time they attempt it? We're at a point where the officiating is actually affecting the outcome of games. If you're going to call something a penalty early on in the game..it needs to be called later in the game too or not at all. I'm all for letting them play but after the Ducks first goal where Stuart moved and pronger went to push but missed and fell on top of osgood....I just can't understand how that goal stands? If homer farted in Hillers face in that situation it would be a disallowed goal. Then, lets talk about dirty plays. Hossa at the other end chasing the puck behind the ducks net. Pronger straight up slams him while hossa numbers faced him....hossa didn't fall so pronger grabbed hossa's jersey and threw him down. Then i think it wasn't even two minutes later we got called on a hook where there was not even any contact when he reached the stick around. Also, someone please explain why Stu was penalized for laying out selanne? His arms were in, selanne had just touched the puck......even mickey said the ref didn't raise his hand for a delayed penalty until they selanne wasn't getting up. Heres my stance....In sports, the rules need to be cut and dry...no gray areas. Either something is a penalty or it isn't. There should be NO debate about it. Call it all or let it all go but be ******* consistent with it for christ sake. To me, in order for something to be a real sport, the rules have to be called right down the middle and apply to both teams. The NHL fails to do this anymore and therefore to me, the NHL is no longer a sport. I used to watch any NHL game that was on tv but now it's getting hard for me to even watch wings games. It just saddens me that the greatest game in the world is being tarnished because of the league's lack of consistency. Not just penalties either. I saw s*** in all of the series pretty much that was deemed suspendable....but Brashear is the only one, and the NHL released a statement saying anything like that would be suspendable...well, I saw all kinds of dirty tactics and the NHL stands behind their refs and turns their heads. It's a complete and utter joke. I grew up watching hockey in the Pre-lockout era. THAT was real hockey. The NHL is just watering it down in an attempt to draw new people in. Sure, that will work for so long but bandwagon fans come and go, and by the time bettman and Co. Realize this, the original fans will have moved on because its just hard to stomach. Bettman is alienating the true fans for new ones who will eventually get bored and leave. If s*** doesnt change, the NHL could be in trouble not too far down the line.
