Ehh, i still say it was more of a late hit than a charge... Oh wait, i juts watched again and noticed the 3-4 strides he took before gliding, then striding twice more....i dont know if that is a charge though because he glided for a bit then started again....would that be a charge then ?
-
Yup, he turns...then i count exactly 2 strides then glide, then BAM. No charge but maybe a little late?
-
Nah, no charge really. He took one , maybe 2 strides and glided into nash
-
Well, the hit itself was just fine. The only thing I could see them have ANY question about is whether it was a late hit or not. Watch closely, he shoots the p uck around the boards and it gets all the way around to the other faceoff circle before Oshie hits him. I still say clean hit because it looked as if Oshie was just finishing his hit he started before Nash dumped the puck off. Wah wah wah, said the Colombus announcers lol

OMG really? Is there anything on this board people DON'T cry about? It was just a question and something I noticed. Lighten up everybody. Dats will not be hurt becasue of this thread. If for some reason he did get hurt...it would still have nothing to do with this thread. Jeesus H christ, I try to start a topic thats a little derived from the Normal goalie whining/player bashing and people don't know how to react. And Mike, sorry this wasn't just aimed at you. I was just using your post as an example to reply to because it was newest. No hard feelings. And sorry, Im not trying to sound like an a-hole. I'm only saying that I was merely trying to post something a little more original to talk about. No need to bash me because YOU'RE superstitious. I'm not, so it doesn't bother me. But hey, you ARE entitled to your beliefs and opinions....just make sure you respect mine and all is good.

Sorry everyone, I didn't realize how superstitious everyone on LGW was. I didn't really mean to make anyone feel bad or worried. I just thought about it and found it amazing that with the way he plays the body on takeaways and i've actually seen him light into a couple guys in the past 10 games or so, how a guy that small is so good at avoiding injury. I guess he learned from lidstrom though lol. Although lids isn't really all that physical, I swear to god the dude has spidey sense when hes facing the boards in the corners because he'll just roll out of the way of a big hit at the last possible second w/o even having to look

NOT true lol. IN the game vs boston, chara hit him so hard he flew upwards about 3 feet before falling. and yes, i somehow typoe'd his name in the thread title lol sorry also, yes i'm knocking on wood now even though i don't really believe in jinx or superstition

Lol you joke about that too huh? I find it funny when (and by when, i mean rarely because i try to stay healthy and in shape) I go to a fast food joint, i hear the car in front of me order like 2 triple whoppers with cheese, large fry, and one of those hershey pie things, then you hear the guy on the speaker say "and what to drink with that?" ummm diet coke. AS IF THAT DAMN DIET COKE will offset the 2000 other calories you're about to eat OMFG LoL

I'd have to say it has to do with them trying to say "Hey detroit, look what you gave up"

To be dead honest here, if/when lils comes back Move him and erricsson up to the 2nd pairing, move kronwall and stuart down to the 3rd as they've both been consistently sloppy and send a message the them by possibly scratching whoever is playing worse and bringing in chelios. If we could get lilja back SOON it'd be best to do this BEFORE the playoffs but from what I'm hearing, Lilja is still having headaches and he said he's getting out of shape which will only stall his return even longer.

I know man right? The wings used to be picked on for playing in a weak division. This year the wings have had a rough season and are still managing to be at the top of the league, and I'd like to think that maybe the reason the wings have looked a little flat despite winning all season is because the teams in our division which we play more games against, got stronger this year. Right? Thats not to say that our boys haven't just had some flat out atrocious games though.

What happened to the powerplay? More like what happened to the offense? For about 4 games now, they just seem to be doing everything BUT scoring. I saw wayyy to many times where a guy with the puck, instead of getting it at the net...made too many passes. They played with the puck too much, and didnt just take it to the net. I saw guys on the PP have a clear lane to the net with a screen in front and instead of shooting they'd hesitate and that lane was blocked so they passed...rinse, repeat. I realize we've been getting alot of shots but they're just trying to get too cute with the plays...what ever happened to taking it to the net?

lol, I have one of those plaques that someone gave me...i just looked and you're right lol. Nice find
-
You may be right here but for arguments sake, look at Datsyuk when he was flip's age...I would have never really guessed what he'd become then. I think Flip will turn out to be what we all hope he is eventually...in time.

I hope those lines are for practice ONLY, and not the game. Hank and Hossa just do not work well together at all. Not only that but, Our offense has looked very stale for the past 3 games and only turning it on when down and going into the 3rd period by which time it has been too late twice now. I know the point of line juggling but it has been done way too much and it seems as though once a line starts building some chemistry, babcock throws them a changeup and puts them on different lines....I am baffled as to why he wouldn't want certain lines to build some chemistry together?
-
well if nothing else, we cant blame ozzie for either goal against....thats almost , like someone else said singlehandedly lidstrom's problem....but the d just made horrible choices tonight
-
4 posts? more like 7...and 4 misses on wide open nets lol
-
This just in, it has just been discovered that Bettman, in his attempt to ruins the wings chance of a repeat or presidents trophy, has engineered the latest in puck technology. In side the puck is a small yet strong electromagnet that upon seeing the puck go toward the opposing team's net, Bettman simply activates the electromagnet inside the puck with a button and watches the puck hit the post! You heard it here first !!! lol
-
I do have to say though...I like the way the refs are calling this game....even both ways and kind of just letting them play. PP
-
why won't the wings just start off playing offense in the first period for a change? It seems they sit back all game til they're down in the third...make a comeback attempt and most of the time, when they would most certainly get it...they started too late and run out of time
-
wow, the ref called taht on cleary? really? the isles D man backed him into the goalie
-
This is pathetic. Our defense looks like a bunch of high school kids and we have quite possibly the most explosive offense in the league yet the last few games they've just played with no heart
-
Why has the wings offense looked so flat for the last 3 or 4 games? wtf is up with em? Not just the offense but the D is just making stupid moves too

When I watched this video, (and i'm dead serious here) I was holding back tears. I was 13 and was at this game and to this day, it was the single most amazing thing i've ever seen in person. It is my biggest nostalgic memory, and I have it on DVD and pull it out from time to time to watch it and I still get the HUGEST adrenaline rush from it. Still got mad love for D-Mac, but Unless we have some injuries, or play a team thats just absolutely pushing us around...he won't play in the stretch...much to my dismay but, we just have many other guys who are better suited to help this team in a much different/much more useful way.

THANK YOU!!! I absolutely agree with what you said there in bold. Case in point, Lilja vs Weber. Lilja has been out for what? 3 to 4 weeks now? And is STILL suffering from the side effects and headaches? Fighting in the 82 game season is only something I wish our players would do when needed, like someone taking a run at dats/zatta/hossa....or any smaller guys....and that includes franzen because lets face it, for a big guy he's softer than butter on a 90 degree summer day. I've seen him way too many times drop after being love tapped and not stick up for himself or anyone else, and honestly I'd rather he NOT fight if he doesn't have to because he's way to valuable to this team to lose and he's prone to injury. In the playoffs though, I say if need be...drop the gloves or participate in extra carriculars (sp?) for the intimidation factor...just be smart about it.
