Actually we dislike Crosby because of the actions of the League not necessarily Crosby. They hail him as The Next One, when really he's just a talented kid- like Zetterberg and Datsyuk. But why you elevate him up to Gretzky status without earning it- it draws alot of ire from those that are being purposefully neglected. If he had come to his reputation organically I think he could have earned some respect, but his lack of maturity (which is natural since he's so young) plus this false title makes him the crybaby douchebag that he is.

I think there is a misperception if we use the Yankees. They are bought and paid for with no salary cap. We just happen to win as well as a team that would have no Salary cap in a capped situation.

I've always been worried about the Yotes and Nashville. The Yotes have been uncannily been able to best us even though they're just Arizona. Nashville is just simply a toss up, half the time they got our number, the other half their just the Preds. I'm a little irritated it's dragging out this long. We'll be tired for the finals at this rate.

If I had my druthers right now, I'd love to see the Avs in the WCF and the Caps in the SCF with another Cup for us. That'd be my dream 16.

Bertuzzi hasnt been a physical force for years though it would be nice if he got his swagger and confidence back.

Howard is young, and plays best against the better teams and only gets beat when the goal is sloppy as hell by a usually underwhelming team. I feel good about Howard. Logic dictates he should be tired, and yes by the Conference Finals he probably will be but there's no reason he shouldnt have enough to take us through the Cup. Its what he does. He's a goalie. As far as the 3rd pair defense... it's better than years past. I like our 4th line, I think they need Draper's leadership and experience. 3rd line has room for improvement, but seriously I'd rather have we got than make any changes. Let the dice roll. All in all I'm optimistic.

Only worried about Phoenix at the moment. We havent done well all season against them. Yotes are dangerous. Blackhawks we have their number. Howard can put up vs Canucks. Then just being dog tired in the finals like last year.

Illitch vs Crosby snub comparisons arent even analagous. It's not like Illitch brushed past the owner of the Pens and snubbed him because of the defeat. The supposedly neutral governing officer of the league got snubbed by a top owner who basically exhibited what we're all thinking- that Bettman sucks, with some dignity befitting his station. I'd feel exactly the same about the incident if the Wings won and Illitch snubbed Bettman, in fact it would be even classier.

If anyone has access to Gettys I'd kill for a hi res photo of MA in the RW Jersey. They had him on the Jumbo tron and everyone tipped their sticks to him.

I think it was more the soft call on Ericsson in Game 3 rather than all this tinfoil hatting you're insinuating. Game 4 was a result of s***ty scheduling that favored the weaker Eastern Conference, since it was announced ahead of time it's not really a fix, just favors the weaker conference. I think if Round 2 were called fairly it wouldnt have gone to 7, I also think it was simply stretched out rather and it didnt matter who won ultimately. We just wanted it more. If the calls are blatantly going the other way then the simplest answer is that someone wants the other team to win that particular game. We shall see, hopefully we just put em away like we did in game 5.

We're going to Game 7 because we'll get s***ty calls because it's fixed for ratings. NBC has the game and Bettman wants more hockey on mainstream tv.

Love breaking this to you- but it's not the bounces that have us up ahead. 1.) We've been winning face-offs. All things being equal and the greatest puck possession team in hockey is possessing the puck and making their opponents respond to their game. 2.) The Pens have 2 lines of strength. We have 4. We completely shut down the Pens golden boys, because we have home ice and can respond to their line changes. It'll be different in Melon Arena but not by much because we have depth. Dats will be back, so Crosby and Malkin will remain shut down... Sorry we're a better team and organization. 3.) Our homers watch both conferences, or at least I do. I watch the games where the Pens play very well in their own conference and I sit the entire game and think... where is Lids. He would be there on that goal. Honestly I think the Ducks would eat the Pens alive, and I would still watch that series.

Well I saw pucks being called dead after they went in the goal in game 3 so....

I got nothing to say here. We are the defending Stanley Cup Champions. We got the goods and then some. The Pens have nothing on us but a losing record. We knew we had it last year. We know we have it now. All this cute penguin posturing has me chuckling softly at the keyboard.
