  1. I don't really like this signing and the overpayment on ericsson's contract. But remember there is a lack of FA in the market so prices, especially for defensemen, are super inflated right now. I think we should've gone after a top-6 forward instead, but at the same time we do need to get someone from the FA market to fill up the defense. There is not much Holland can do.
  2. Let's get Todd McClellan back if he gets fired after the playoffs
  3. Sharks are this year's stanley cup champions.
  4. SJS is this year's stanley cup champion
  5. the wings dominated 40% of game 1? That must be the joke of the day. You are watching a different game (maybe in your dream?). and Detroit is not "half-assing" the game like you said. The mistakes they are making are forced by the aggressive play of SJ. THe wings are fighting in their own zone to try to get the puck so often that by the time they got the puck...they had to dump the puck and make a change. That's why you see the huge difference in SOG because SJ is spending way more time attacking than the wings does (basically controlling the play).
  6. as I said in my earlier post, there is no excuse this year. Yes, it sucks to lose, but let's face it. If we do lose this series, it just signifies that this team need changes (either from our prospects or FA signing to infuse the team with youth and energy). I am sure Kenny Holland knows what to do.
  7. Yes right now it looks like it's gonna be a repeat of last year and I also see the struggle, but last year we had to fight into the playoffs and went through the 7 game series with coyotes. This year, we are well-rested, and this is what playoffs is all about...turning on that extra gear and putting in 200% effort. I believe the wings still have some gas left in the tank, so don't lose all hope in the wings just yet.
  8. I agree with you about the 60-minute penalty kill. It's the reality. But I still believe we have what it takes to beat SJ. Hope the wings will elevate their play to another level.
  9. So you are saying in game 1 the wings are too well-rested which makes them a bit rusty in game 1. and now for game 2 we don't have enouf rest???????? This is just non-sense, and stop making excuses. Let's face it, we were clearly outplayed in game 1 (just look at the SOG difference). Howard kept us in the game. Game 2 seems pretty even if you only look at the stat, but to me, the sharks look way more dangerous when they are attacking in our zone and much more solid on defense. Again, howard kept us in the game. I do hope coming back home will give the wings a boost and elevate their play. But, I think the age factor is showing in this series. We do have an disadvantage when we face teams that are younger and more physical (Helm and abdelkader cannot do it all by themselves). The only way we can beat the sharks is to stick with what we can do best...quick and perfect puck movement. and this is not easy to do because the sharks are also quick in pressuring our guys and forcing us to make mistakes. but yes, i hope the wings will elevate their play in the upcoming games.
  10. I am not sure if it is really having too much time off. but tonight, san jose's offense is just too much for the wings to handle. the wings just can't compare to the sharks in terms of strength and speed the whole night. wings are lucky that it's only a 2-1 game. if howard is not on top of his game, it could have been a blowout.
  11. i am from vancouver, but i am more of a detroit fan than a canucks fan. I have to say that canucks is not my favorite team because of previous management and their fanbase. You would really get pissed about all those wrong decisions made before by the organization, but it looks like they are changing in direction with mike gillis as the GM (which it good I think). But their fans is still a problem. The number of bandwagon fans who know nth at all is simply amazing. The entire city cheers for canucks when they are winning, but once they start losing, everyone hops off and diss the team. It's not easy to find a real canucks fan in vancouver actually. I especially hate how these bandwagon fans plan their Stanley cup parade route before they even get past the first/second round of playoffs (c'mon, this is just plain stupid)
  12. phoenix's lack of offensive power made us look good defensively...(weak PK shows that)
  13. I would say the refs decided the game today. stop making these dumb calls and just let the players play geeez
  14. is that supposed to be a joke?
  15. With the way our game went today, I think the refs for the dallas vs minnesota game have already received a msg from gary bettman and co. to give minnesota the win.
