    Vote for Datsyuk!

A TSN POY first apparently... http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=425997 One thing for sure is, Pavel can't lose
  2. Recorded the end of the game radio broadcast and put these together.
  3. You've should of seen it 4 years ago....well technically you can. Was way way worse quality, often times no audio at all.
  4. Ok, we gotta have a topic here for the Calder Cup Finals. Grand Rapids Griffins are taking on the Syracuse Crunch, who are the defending champions (Tampa's affiliate was Norfolk last year). They have only lost 4 total games the past 2 post season, only 1 so far this post season. I know we were kind of worried/looking forward to this, but with the big clubs. However this should be pretty exciting for Wings fans. Game 1 Sat., June 8 GRIFFINS at Crunch 7 p.m. Game 2 Sun., June 9 GRIFFINS at Crunch 6 p.m. Game 3 Wed., June 12 Crunch at GRIFFINS 7 p.m. Game 4 Fri., June 14 Crunch at GRIFFINS 7 p.m. *Game 5 Sat., June 15 Crunch at GRIFFINS 7 p.m. *Game 6 Tue., June 18 GRIFFINS at Crunch 7 p.m. *Game 7 Thu., June 20 GRIFFINS at Crunch 7 p.m. Watch for free http://theahl.com/watch-the-finals-for-free-on-ahl-live-p184148 For those that haven't seen it, this is the Playoff intro video the Griffins had at the beginning of the postseason.
  5. Would be nice if NHL Networks picks up the Calder finals...to then have better feeds instead of the jumbotron view via ahllive. Dekeyser is said to start for game 1 of the finals.

Dekeyser on his way to Grand Rapids

    They start training them early

Dekeyser on his way to Grand Rapids

Ya it was 2 soft goals. This last one the Barons goalie just stood there...didn't even flinch it looked like. 3rd going.
  8. I instantly thought of this

Dekeyser on his way to Grand Rapids

If the Griffins advance or there is a game 7 we most likely will see Dekeyser playing.

Who can be sent down to help the Griffins?

I'd have to imagine that if Dekeyser is cleared to play and the Griffins are still going he'd be sent there as well. He pretty much started his season a few weeks before the playoffs, so more ice-time at a bigger level with good competition should be a learning experience that I'm sure the club wants him exposed to. OKC is giving them a hard time right now, so it'll be interesting to see how they look tomorrow. Game time is 8pm ET.
  11. The NHL once again is doing the annual EA Sports NHL game cover vote. http://covervote.nhl.com Every team has 2 candidates and only 1 can move on to the next round of voting. Jimmy Howard or Pavel Datsyuk are the options for the Wings. Would be nice to see Pavel make it there, he made it fairly far in last years voting.
  12. Article I saw posted elsewhere, figured it would be a good discussion here. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nhl--babcock-keeps-pushing-red-wings-in-perhaps-his-best-coaching-job-ever-184636304.html
  13. I know this isn't the right section, but no one bothers to look in the Griffins sub-forum. Hopefully it can stay here for a bit. Griffins close out the series against the Marlies with a 3 goal come from behind in the 3rd period. Within 5 minutes Griffins get goals from 3 different players winning the game 4-3. Tatar notched himself 2 more this game, bringing his playoff total to 8 and 11 points overall in 11 games. Griffins have been pretty impressive so far these playoffs. Should be some good experience for those that will be up with the Wings next season. As we have found young players really grow during playoffs when everything is on the line.

Dan McNeil on the Score 670 Now!

  15. Saw this on another board. Nyquist is apparently learning quickly from another teammate.
  16. Well I think everyone is in agreement that the Wings have exceeded expectations. They have really played well when it comes to do or die games. The rookies seem to have really grown in the past few weeks. Going up against the President's Trophy winners will be a heck of a challenge. Hard to say the Wings will lose, but I think it'll be another hard fought series. Wings in 7 Game 1: Wednesday, Red Wings at Blackhawks, 8 p.m. on NBCSN, CBC Game 2: Saturday, Red Wings at Blackhawks, 1 p.m. on NBC, CBC Game 3: Monday, Blackhawks at Red Wings, 7:30 p.m. on NBCSN, CBC Game 4: May 23, Blackhawks at Red Wings, 8 p.m. on NBCSN, CBC *Game 5: May 25, Red Wings at Blackhawks, TBD on CBC *Game 6: May 27, Blackhawks at Red Wings, TBD on CBC *Game 7: May 29, Red Wings at Blackhawks, TBD on CBC
  17. *Looks for station link stream of Ken Kal* *checks mute button functionality*
  18. Proposed schedule according to FSD. Western Conference semifinals: No. 7 Detroit vs. No. 1 Chicago Game 1: Wednesday May 15, Red Wings at Blackhawks Game 2: Saturday May 18, Red Wings at Blackhawks Game 3: May 20, Blackhawks at Red Wings Game 4: May 22, Blackhawks at Red Wings

Any tips on ways to tolerate the NBC media?

Syncing Ken Kal with the NBC feed shouldn't be too difficult...usually takes some fine tuning to get it to match up. I wonder how much it would cost to pay for Gary Thorne to do a series. I wonder if that would ever work (pipe dream)...the fans of a league pooling together money paying to hear a different announcer.
  20. I do have to say this will probably be a less stressful series. Going into it we are expecting the worst and the Wings have overcome great odds to get here. It's all pretty much icing on the cake now and whatever happens will either be what we thought or elated to probably epic levels of homerism.
  21. Ya I realized that right after I posted, thus the edit. CI is worthless for the playoffs (non existent), since they don't have it anymore with the new NBC deal.
