- Great signing by Holland. Low risk / high reward. - I don't understand how Sens fans can claim they have as much of a chance at winning the cup than the Wings do. The sens were absolutely humiliated by the Pens in the second round who were in turn humiliated by the Bruins in the third round. The Sens are a LONG way from being true contenders. - With the addition of Weiss and Alfie and the growth of our kids I truly believe the Wings are a contender. Although I was impressed with the growth of our defence last season, I believe we are one top 3 defencemen away from being cup champions. - I can't wait to get an Alfredsson #11 Red Wings Jersey! It's very easy to see which members of LGW are American and which are Canadian. As a Canadian Wings fan in Southern Ontario, dealing with the arrogance and annoyance of Leaf fans and the Toronto media is almost unbearable. Their loss last night was the most amazing hockey moment I have experienced since Game 6 of the 2008 Stanley Cup Final. Thank you Boston Bruins!

Don't ever say that! The leafs winning a cup would be absolutely awful. I hope the leafs and their unbelievably annoying fan base never win a cup in my lifetime. I have nightmares thinking about the possibility of losing to the leafs in the playoffs in the coming years now that we are moving east. However, beating them in the playoffs would be amazing.

As much as I love Tootoo and the intensity he brings every time he's on the ice, I would consider sitting Tootoo for Bertuzzi and as stated above possibly juggling the lines to separate Pavel and Z. I hope he gives the Nyquist Anderson Brunner line another chance as they were great down the stretch and I thought they played alright last night. Having said that, the 4th line of Eaves Emmerton Tootoo has also played very well and if Bertuzzi comes into the line up I think it will be for Brunner or Anderson. I hope Babcock doesn't dress Samuelsson.

I agree but I thought we were talking about the Wings needing defencemen in this thread and Lidstrom being replaced. Regardless, we both know there's no way the Wings end up with a top three pick so they won't be getting either of these players.

Well unless MacKinnon drastically changes his game and becomes a defenceman I don't think he could replace Lidstrom on the back end.

I don't see many changes happening this off-season. I think the Wings will keep a lot of flexibility for the 2011/2012 off season where we could see some major changes. I'd like to see the Wings get a little younger and a little harder to play against this off season (like many others on LGW) the Changes I would make: Out: Modano, Draper, Salei In: Wisniewski, and a third or fourth line forward like LaRose, Fiddler or Upshall I think the emergence of Mursak/Tatar and Kindl/Smith will give us the depth we need.

I think there pretty funny.. Its got to be annoying for the player in the box.. maybe their presence will keep abdelkader out of the box!

I Just wanted to tell everyone who attended the game last night to give themselves a pat on the back. The atmosphere at the Joe was incredible. Even when the Wings went down 1-0 after dominating the game the crowd didn't stop backing the team. All I can say now is come thursday... History Will Be Made!!!! Let's Go Wings! I dislike the canucks because I live in Canada and had to put up with many of their fans acting like they had already won the cup in march. In addition, the Canadian media bias towards them (because they are the only good canadian team in the playoffs) is unbelievable. Up until the blackhawks took it to 7 games the many canuck fans I know were acting like their team was the greatest thing since sliced bread. As a fan of another team, it can be very irritating when a team that hasn't accomplished a thing yet has fans that think their team is unbeatable. As for the team, I like a lot of their players and think they are a good team. It will be a good western conference finals when the canucks play the wings!

I want to play Nashville. It's closer to Detroit than San Jose (easier travel) and we beat them in '08 on the way to the cup. I also just want Vancouver to be eliminated by the hawks because their fans really annoyed me this year acting like they had already won the cup when they won the President's trophy. San Jose vs. Chicago would also be a great series. Note: Living in Canada all I ever hear about is how great the Canucks are and It would be amazing to see them eliminated tonight.
