Hockey cartoons are awesome... and so are the guys who draw them. *cough cough* That one always gets me.

The Wings will win tonight on home ice and get revenge for that pathetic loss in Chicago. It still irks me that they disallowed what should have been the Wings GWG for no 'good reason'. They took away a point from the Wings and gave Chicago 2 that they didn't deserve. The whistle was blown way too soon, especially when the play is that close to the net. Grrrr!

I know that the website wasn't made for the purpose of ripping him because he died. It's been around for a long time. But when he did die, the people who posted on there were absolutely vicious. Look, I hated the "Darkness with Harkness" era in Red Wings history. Yes, I am getting old. I was hoping he'd get fired and move on somewhere else to spread his knee jerk, quick fix, disease. I never wished he would die. There is a difference between being a passionate fan, and being a horrible person... for most people. I know that Chicago isn't the only fan base that thinks that poor sportsmanship and criminal behavior is a way of showing how 'passionate' you are about your teams, but they are one of them. Just because Phillie and Oakland think that stabbing visiting fans is a sign of loyalty, doesn't give Chicago a free pass.

Sad. Truly sad. But it doesn't surprise me considering the kind of 'fans' that Chicago has. They ran Steve Bartman out of town with thousands of death threats because it was 'his fault' that the Cubs lost the series to Florida. They get high on Meth and gang up on senior citizen baseball managers from Kansas City. They howl and scream during the national anthem, a time that every other sports fan base takes for quiet reflection. They have fan sites like BillWirtzSux revelling in the fact that the man past on... nothing the fans in Chicago do will ever surprise me.

It's great to have these threads back. Ahhh, life makes sense again. I'm going to predict a 4-3 Wings victory in a down to the minute nail biter. Wings win it in the closing moments when Homer gets an ugly goal in front of the net. No pizzazz, just hard work and grit. Go Wings!

I guess rather than 'owning' Zet now, he 'owns' an ace bandage.

The only time I really notice it is when Elmer Fudd calls the games.

Out of the 4 games played last night, 3 went to OT and the last game was still a one goal game. Pretty competitive night to start the season in N.A.

That's hard to say. Where is the veteran leadership going to come from this year. Most of the players on the roster have never been Griffins before. There is a lot of new blood on this team. I have no idea who the team is going to assign the "C,A,A" to. I don't think that anyone really stands out as obvious choices just yet.

Sharp is the kid in class who hates whatever is popular. If "3 Doors Down" is on the top of the charts and everyone is into their music... he's the kid running around telling everyone how much he thinks they suck. If everyone is into "E.T.", he's the one running around telling everyone that the movie sucks. This guy obviously got picked on a lot when he was in school and never recovered from it.

It's only one game, and the first game in their cases, of the season. You're not going to learn too much about a team until they have 10-20 games behind them.

That pretty much sums it up.

I have vs. on dish tv. But I think that it sucks that the first Wings game of the season is not on FSN. Those guys do a great job.

Who has the better conference is kind of a mute point. You measure success by Stanley Cups Championships. The Devil's have won 3 in recent years. The Canes and Lightning have won. Then the Wings have 3, the Stars have one, the Avs have 2. The Rangers have gotten 1. It is pretty even recently, say over the last 15 - 20 years or so.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm wondering though, how much of this has something to do with the fact that he is recovering from a pretty horrible car accident. Some? Any? None?

If you can tear an edge in your fingernail, you can try to eventually cut away the duct tape that is holding your hands behind your back, and escape the cruel tormenters who have you restrained in that chair and are forcing you to read these threads. Our prayers are with you. Be brave.
