Convince me why I shouldn't be dreading this series....
Rob the Badger replied to Packer487's topic in General
I can see this being a tough series for both teams. Both Wilson and Babcock have come close to glory recently and will have their teams prepared for a long, physical series. I would be surprised if it doesn't come down to a game 7 scenario. That being said, I think that if it does come down to game 7, I feel comfortable with a healthy Hasek and a loud JLA to bring a trip to the WCF. -
You've got my vote, Dave.

Not a great night in rochester for the rest of the team. We've been spoiled seeing them lead the league in goals scored... to see them in this offensive funk is disheartening. Hopefully they can get some contenuity back in the line up, get the chemistry again and start lighting the lamp on a regular basis.

If the Wings wanted someone who was a tough character to fill in on the 4th line, then they should have kept Vandermeer.

I can't see Booter getting called up before Hudler. Hudler is scoring like a mad man and Bootland isn't. Hudler is a superior skater, puck handler, and play maker. Bootland is only good at trading punches with middle weights and chasing bunnies. He needs to develope his skating and passing before he gets any real permanent time in the NHL.

Hudler is definitely not a speedster. During the faster skater competition during the AHL all star game in Grand Rapids, Nate Robinson blew his doors off, then reinjured his groin. Jiri's not exactly slow either and is a decent skater. His nose for the net and ice-vision could allow him to survive in the NHL. Though if he does get caught along the boards by a lumbering goon... well, I just hope they make body bags in petite sizes.
-
How sick are those stats. How long can he keep this up? I heard one media member saying that Hudler could be one of the most talented members of his "Draft" class, but his size would keep him out of the NHL. Well, with the new rules, and if they keep calling the games the way they are... maybe he can fill in a Kariya or St. Louis type role.

Hopefully deadwood doesn't take anyone else out with the shrapnel.

Bob Kaser was saying on the radio that his 8 points in 7 periods of hockey is a new Griffins record. I doubt he'll keep up that kind of pace, but it's great to see him playing better than he did last season.

I disagree with you. I think that they started fine and finished poorly. They had the 4-1 lead and let the Baron's pull within one at the end of the game. They need to learn how to finish if they want to have a better season than they did last year.

Hopefully he stays in GR the entire season. He needs the work, but I could see him playing in Detroit in the future. He's got a nose for the net.
