sure there a few exceptions,.. you forgot yzerman, but then look at the "greats" bowen,kuznetsov, wallin,golubovski, I think we had 3 1st round drafts that were in our lineup for the scf and only 1 was drafted by us, so i stand by my point, a redwing 1st round draft pick would be useFUl if we got to pick in the top 5, hell even the top 10 consistently but that never happens anymore (thank god)

he's not swedish if they break up the flying circus next year i can see great lines being fil/dats/holm franz/Z/hudler cleary/draper/sammy malts/helm/kopecy-bigmac i would bet if hudler gets regular time n a 2nd line he will put up 70-80- points this season... just remember you heard it here first but as an above poster said, i think we should worry about resigning flipper and stuart and not worry about bringing in any new talent...maybe sundin if ONLY for the motivational "lets win matts a cup and send him out on top" mentality in the dresing room, but aye no new forwards we got plenty and i want to see if this leino guy is any good and can crack the lineup

haha,i saw the time stamp right away then enjoyed reading people vehemately (sp?) deny that Z could be a top 5 player, kudos to the guy for standing up for Z, although i would have too, it was still enjoyable to read. anyone making a list yet going in for next season?

I have no other complaints about our goalies. then again goaltending is one thing i never really worried about with detroit, except DURING games when hasek was out of his net doing something dumb; but i have always had confidence in ozzy, hasek, cujo when he was here, howard, legace, vernon

If we get anther goalie besides howard, please make sure he has a normal f'n goalie mask, not the osgood or hasek plyaer type helmets... Howards is great

only looked at the first couple of pages of threads and didn't see this one so just thought i would ask you guys what you think. Not sure who i would pick, probably either hudler (i think he is an awesome player who gets nowhere near enough icetime) or maybe downy when he was in the lineup, i think he gave our players a big boost by being on the bench and from what i have seen just his demeaner in the locker room and his personality in general

Z is my first pick in every hockey pool i join regular season or playoffs, then datsyuk then i go for the AO's and crosby's and i won the 1 playoff pool i was in this year with this team: (10 people draft style, i got pick 2 then pick 19, 22..etc Zetterberg lidstrom heatley(ott) rafalski holmstrom markov (mon) franzen filppula fedorov (was) hasek sadly datsyuk was taken i think 14th overall and was the only other redwing picked..and i got laughed at the entire time i was making picks now i ama couple hundred bucks richer so haha

ordered mine from shop/nhl.com the morning after they won, said they had lots in stock, got an email later that day saying it would be 4-5 weeks, got an email on monday saying they shipped, got an email yesterday saying that since it left detroit on on monday, 3 days prior it was in...Toronto, like 6 hours away lol, i hope it shows up today cuz i am out of town next week . and i paid extra for puroair delivery

but the only time bure was in his own zone was when there was a faceoff there

Dats almost a brough tears of pride to my eyes many times this playoff run with sticking up for Z and at the end of the pitts game 2 i think when we was throwing down in the scrum. I agree he is gonna be a monster, could take the art ross next year too. every thing he does is legal and as much as was throwing around he never took cheap shots or played dirty so i think he can win plenty more lady byngs

I know Crosby is good, damn good, incredibly gifted offensively, but i would still have to give the nod to hank as being better offensively, sure the numbers are in crosby's favor for total points, but, not sure what total icetime is for Sid but it is probably a ouple minutes a game higher then Z, take anohter 2-3 min off for Z playing the PK and crosby not, that is 5 min a game average (i am guessing) that sid has more time on the ice to score with a decent or expected chance to score. I didn't watch too many pitts games this year but i am pretty sure they roll 3 lines the majority of the time with the 4th getting in there occasionally, this gives crosby more time on the ice not against a teams top line like the flying circus is when they are together. And i know i am seeing this all throgh red tinted glasses but still.......

go with the Hank jersey they are awesome (i got 2, 3rd is coming when he eventually gets the "C") Franzen would be a good one but might want to see if he goes back to number 39 first or keeps 93. As for me my next jersey is Kronwall

as much as i love the guy and i hope beyond anything that he resigns long term, and he is totally deserving of this award, i just hope his name does not get saturated down the way that crosby has his name in every aspect of hockey these days.

i say we just keep who we have, get our rfa's etc signed then if we are stumbling come xmas time maybe pick somebody up, i like the team we have now even if drake leaves we got lots of young guys who can kill 7-8 minutes a game

Without AO, wash would have been doubtful to make the playoffs, and the stands would be 1/2 empty, and unless they were playing the leafs they would not be on highlight shows either; he is the most valuable player on his team by far, but the nhl doesn't look at that they look at his 65 goals, Not saying AO did not deserve the award just saying he won it for the wrong reason, he got the hart for the same reason he got the AR. just my opinion though

Z is my favorite player but there is no way Datsyuk should not have won this award, his numbers were insane. Congrats Pav
