i honestly have no idea how i would react and i hope i never find out, I really HATE pronger though, I don't even cheer for him on team canada, i have this thing where i just can not with any part of my body want this guy to succeed, even b4 the cup with the ducks, even before he bolted edmonton like an assclown, i have never liked this guy, dirty dirty player, reminds me of a bully, some highschool kid who hangs out with junior high kids cuz he is bigger and likes to be the man, i do not think his play style or attitude towards the game of hockey would ever fit in this organization so i am pretty confident we will never have to worry about it.

hank and hossa have looked really good for the few seconds they end up on the same line together i really liked the looks of the 3rd line the last couple games with huds, flip and kopy. the 2nd line had to change thugh it just did not seem to be clicking to me. I would have gone with a homer/Z/Pavel Cleary/Franzen/Hossa huds/flip/kopy maltby/drapes/sammy the magic circus line is still imo the best in the game at both ends of the ice.

i for one would love to see the eurotwins together again i think it would be awesome them, awesome for the team and awesome for the fans. As an aside though and it doesn't hurt me to say this too much; I think one of the best players on the wings tonight was Sammy, he must have been reading these boards lol He was go go go all game and didn't make any glaring mistakes and not once did i yell "F#@^ YOU SAMMY" at the tv. I was very pleasantly surprised, If he keeps it up I might have to change my tune on him a bit. Lots of offense, great getting secondary scoring just wish the top 2 lines would do more, something is definately not right there, I think they have the chemistry but the puck just does not seem to be going in for some reason. Couple bad breaks on the vancouver goals, i think we should have won about 8-2 but a win is a win and we will take the 2 points, and now we won't see them till the playoofffs...maybe.

nope, i would never wear an avalanche jersey, or any other nhl team jersey..unless Z were to ever end up another team then i am sure i would get the new team with Z on it. As for wearing defunct nhl teams like the nords or a team canada/sweden or russian jersey like people i mentioned i would wear those no problem, already got an yzerman team canada...want a Z swedish but those jersey's to me are damn ugly. although i would never wear anything but a wings jersey to an actual game, around town or around the house the others are fine imo.

fair enough, and I understand that we need the bottom of the payscale roleplayers to make a championship team, I am pleasantly surprised with the offensive numbers sammy has been putting up, on the other hand and maybe i am being too hard on him or looking for his bad plays more then i am looking for his good but to be he just seems to not playing as hard as he can, i mean, if you have horrible aim (and in his defense lots of players miss the net) spend a few minutes extra after practice just shooting pucks, or if you are a little slower then practice sprints, I do not expect him to be the next gretzky or lemieux i just want him to show more hussle out there, to work harder, i am not expecting him to get 100+ points and be a hart finalist i just expect him to backcheck as hard as everyone else on the team; and while this is totally subjective i guess i just do not see it from him so far this season.

doesn't mean you are right either, but i'll forgive you...but first you must say "i love crepes" and no z, d and h do not get free passes, out of all the bad plays i have seen this year those 3 have 3 of the biggest, pav had 2 brutal giveaways in the pitsburgh game, hossa's play in the vancouver game at center ice was absolutely horrible and Z's attempted clear of the puck a couple games ago and his inability to dump it in and always attempt to 1 vs 4 it into the zone drive me crazy. And I can imagine you think I am hugely biased towards Sammy based on some personal vendetta against him but I am not, I told you my opinion as a fan, that i think we would better off without him. If you must know my personal guy to bag on is Rafalski, at least 1 time a game..go back and watch the games he is caught so far out of position on either a bad pinch or a mishandled puck on the blueline that the other team gets an oddman rush...and you know what? I actually wait for it now and do not consider it a legitimate game until it happens. Either way, I am not a Gm or a coach of this team, I am a fan, our team is the defending SC champs and if we can play the rest of the season like we can (like we did against anaheim last night) we will be champs again in june. As afan I feel I am entitled to have an opionion on the team and it's players. He coasts, he does not go hard into the corners, he lets up when he should finish his checks. In the montreal game, the puck was coming to the blue line, it was him against a montreal player the montreal was going hard and hustling for the puck, sammy was still closer and could have: a: hustled himself to beat the montreal guy to the puck b: let the montreal player pick up the puck and then checked him into the boards c: took 2 strides and attempt to hit the puck out of the way what does he do? d: stop skating and halfheartedly place his stick in the general area of the puck in effect doing nothing would you see dats or z doing that, or since we are so hellbent on defending sammy not being in the same upper echelon of those guys would kopecy or helm do that? or drake when he was here? or maltby or mac or anyone else on the team? I rarely see him going to the corners and laying a hit to keep the puck in the play, he makes lots of errant passes, when he does pass that is, he takes too many bad angle shots, his aim is atrocious, he is quite possibly offside more then anyone else on the team, i have seen him hustle to beat an icing call 1 time this year. As for bringing Cleary into this what was it, his 2nd game back after all that time off? give the guy a game or 2 to adjust. And nfm what if i am a sportswriter and i did analyze ever second of evergame during every single one of Sammy's shifts? You don't know so you can drop the sarcasm. Look this is a discussion on a forum, I am trying to express my point of view without resorting to childish name calling and your momma jokes like so many people do so you don't have to bring out the sarcasm.

This season Sammy has been putting up points lots from being on the pp, in my opinion and what i have been trying to convey all along (although i ramble a lot so it might not come out that way) is that I think he is not as good as his numbers suggest, I do not like the way he plays defensively I feel he could improve cuz I feel he is not giving 100%, I said the same thing about the entire 4th line for the better part of the first 14 games this season. I do not feel like he makes a great redwing I do not think his style is conductive to the rest of team. He only makes 1.2 mil and he has a boat load of points but i had to pick 1 guy to offload it would be him based solely on the fact that I do not think he fits the wings style of play, I would rather have an unproven guy for 1/2 as much money take his place ie Abdelkader or Leino or a guy who is semi proven ..Meech or Helm take his place as I FEEL they could do at least as good if not better, There is always room for players to develope and evolve into better players, I just think Sammy has peaked and plateau'd and what we see is what we get. I find myself saying "WHAT THE F@#$ SAMMY!!!" more then i do saying "GOOD SOLID PLAY THERE SAMMY, NICE PASS, WAY TO KEEP IT IN" etc Sure every player has moments where they are not perfect or they make a bonehead plays, it just seems to me that sammy does it with a lot more consistency. All i said at the beginning of the thread was that even though sammy has some points i still think he looks useless out there 90% of the time. All this other talk kind of took it off track, but I still believe what i write, he has done nothing major too change my opinion on him as a player over last year when i thought he was useless 90% of the time as well.

All I am Saying is that if Fil was a right handed shot, he would be on the point on the PP instead of Sammy (cuz I hope we can agree that Fil is the better all around player) give Fil the 12 PP points Sammy has then people would see what I am seeing- that Sammy while a good bang for his buck is not as good as people are giving him and his point totals credit for, he did not magically turn into a superstar over the summer, he is for all intents and purposes the same player as last year that everyone hated. If you don't agree then you don't agree there is nothing i can say that will change that as I am sure there is nothing you can say that can change my mind. If Sammy starts pulling off 1 vs 3's and coming up with goals every game like Z or Hossa or Datsyuk then maybe we can have this conversation again with different results.

I have nothing agaisnt him other then like i said i do not think he hustles enough out there, Fil who i think has great potential is another guy i think coasts too much out there causing my vocal chords great strains some games. Anyways you will not convince me that Sammy brings it as much as the next guy, sure he is not as talented as Z but he could at least try and match the enthusiasm Z has on the ice. And not against you but in general alot of the people here who are now standing up for sammy cuz of his point totals are the same ones that were villifying him at the star of the season and wanted him off the team

he doesn't in my opinion "bring it" every game or every shift, he is just like lang was, last night alone he made quite a few bad passes, sure he only makes 1.2 mil or whatever but still that is not an excuse to coast out there. There is more to playing hockey then puttng up points. Maybe i am being too hard on him though; just being on the redwings he should be better then he is all i want to do is see the guy break a sweat when he is out there, I do not think that is too much to ask.

i expect him to skate hard and not be soft in the corners and not to give up on plays...like it is his job to do

personally, I think it is a stupid idea, I also think giving it to a player who has just started with a team, ie jason smith in philly last year i believe. I know they gave to Yzerman early and by my standards too early in his carreer, but i think it is something that should be earned and given to the heart and soul of a team not just the guy with the most points.
