i hope we get roberts and satan, and satan gets 37 goals in the playoffs as we win the cup again, then after the season he will resign with pittsburgh again and suck.

meh it sucks, but we deserved it, we got outplayed badly, we didn't win a race to a loose puck all night i think, our passing was horrible, we coouldn't get our stick on any rebounds no secondary shots, we were horrible in our own end with the breakouts, just an overall bad game. It seemed like everything that could go wrong did go wonrg for us and everything that could go right went well for them. I'll give their defense credit, but their offense from what i saw was about 95% fluke, i can almost guarantee they didn't have any clue how 6 of those goals went in, just right place right time. Either way we lost couldn't even get 1 goal, just pathetic, we were lethargic and just plain bad. Good news is it is over and one with, we are still 2nd in the west and an asswhoopin like this should refocus the team....i wouldn't want to be st.louis on tuesday.

i think if we in the playoffs like we played tonights game....yay stanley cup again noone will be able to touch us, a couple bad penalties but for the most part we totally dominated, right after hossa got injured i don't think they got the puck more then 20 feet insdie our blue line the rest of the 2nd period, and even with the pp's they had in the 3rd we still owned them. great game by maltby.

I am pretty sure that we will stand pat on the goalie situation we have and hope for the best, but if we do get someone, i am going with Cujo, no need to sign him next year so it won't affect our cap, plus the guy has proven playoff experience...although that was seasons ago and age has no doubt caught up with him, but i can pretty much guarantee he has the hunger to win a cup. but like i said i do not believe we will get any golaie by the deadline

we need CUJO you guys can say what you want but it was not his fault we got kicked out of the playoffs with him in net, he played lights out our team gave him no offense, plus he will retire after this year i think, has a low cap hit(i think) and is a proven playoff goalie, plus toronto is not even using him. now you guys can flame me. As for Howard last night, i think 1 goal was his fault, we played horrible last night one of the worst games all year, our passes did not connect we looked like crap on the pp, our man coverage was poor, minnisoya looked awesome last nght, not like the usual minnisota team i see, they had the extra man coverage on almost evry play, they beat us to the pucks, the got their sticks in the anes to break up our passes. Overall i was mad watching our boys last night, i thought they would play better in front of Howard.

We are without Franzen, Holmstrom, Stuart and possibly lebda after tonight, we are also missing Meech. That is some serious players on our team who are missing, some big cogs in the big red machine...yet to be honest with you the last 2 weeks, I have not even noticed, the boys are playing that good without them, even the powerplay is still clicking along without our top 2 net pressence guys. MAN I LOVE THIS TEAM. anyways just an observation, we for sure are gonna lose some players this off season, but the way i see it now, it is not gonna hurt this team too much at all. What do you guys think?

i would take hudler over frazen hands down, HEART i think is the thing that seerates them the most, not saying Franzen doesn't have it but hudler seems to me like if he doesn't sign with the wings he will just quit the nhl (i know he wouldn't, but he seems like a redwing for life to me). As people have already said he is an amazing playmaker and stickhandler as well i woul say2nd only to Dats in both regards, Sure he is a small guy but he is always in there giving it his all every shift. And I have never heard of him complaining about anything even though he is constantly being shafted by babs.

good article, i never said he said he wouldn't stay but i figured it was a 1 year deal, if he signs and it looks like he will (but he hasn't yet) i will be happy as hell love the way the guy has been playing and from what i have read he fits the organisation perfectly on the ice and in the locker room, but tbh i would take hudler over franzen not sure why just something about franz does not sit well with me, can not put my finger on it. but i would have hoss as first priority for sure.

even with them getting green, we are loaded with prospects on the blue so if we had taken green which there is no guarantee we would have he would prob be in GR still or a 5th/6th guy who we would not be able to afford after this season anyways....plus how many cups have washington won with green on their roster....? Lang was a huge floater out there but he was clutch offensively when we needed him, sure we didn't win a cup with lang but there were also 27 other teams that didn't win the cup in those 3 years as well

Gonna agree with the signing him part, when i heard we signed him in the summer i was stoked, but i did not even want to think about the year after, but now reading all these reports that we might actualy get him and at a discount...i don't want to get my hopes up too much but i can't really help it, it is only the last couple games i have really been excited for him to be a wing. Actually it was the game against pittsburgh, after he got that goal, the smile on his face told me that he was A REDWING not just a great player in a wings uniform. Hope we can get it done.

I agree with ou in the sense that I am sick of seeing Crosby in almost 80% of the hockey commercials i see, (and the one you mention with pitsburgh doing all that stuff in the finals and not evening mentioning that they lost haha) is a little frustrating, and I agree with you that i do not think crosby is the premier player in the league, i can think of 5 off the top of my head that i would take ahead of him if i was starting my dream team (Z and Dats being 2 of them).... But in saying that i liken it to Marilyn Manson of the mid 90's, To be honest with you I didn't even care about his music didn't like it much either i can not remember actually knowing anyone who really liked the band, but most of the people i knew had his album, like you said the media can be a popular tool either good or bad The NHL (bettman) has latched onto Crosby as their go to guy and seriously, anything that gets the NHL in the papers and noticed, and anything that helps get people into hockey, whether by watching on tv or getting asses in the seats at arenas, or jersey sales or whatever is a good thing. I am sure we could have a bunch of commercials with riberio fromdallas on in them but noone would know (outside of dallas and die hard hockey fans) what it was for, and realistically we do not need to market to the die hard fans, if Crosby's face gets the nhl more money (and hence a higher salary cap )i am all for it; besdies we kicked crosby's ass in the only place that matters, on the ice.

would love to see zata/dats and homer back together, a seconfd line with either of hossa/franzen/huds/flip/cleary would still be dynamic

i am starting to doubt more and more that we can get franzen for less the 5-6 a year, was just thinking that a big body that has for the end of last season, the playoff run when he was healthy and this season no matter which line he is on can put the puck in the net, teams will be drooling all over a guy like him, teams witha bunch of cap space like nyisle and la can throw the bank at him, hell even vancouver could use him to center the sedin sisters or their second line, i imagine franzen and his agent know this as well and...not positive on this one cuz franzen has never been one of my favorite wings but someone here said that last contract was a ***** to get done with him and he was a nothing then, well compare to the player he is right now. I am fairly confident we will lose franzen or hossa, and i am thinking it is mroe likely we lose franzen tbh, not sure why justa gut feeling. Hope we can keep Hudler though, he has been my 3rd favorite wing since yzerman retired, and he only seems to be getting better, he can stick handle he can shoot he can deke he is small but that is the only nock against him, as much as people here think babs rips on him i think babs knows how good he really is. Even with Franzen on the hot streaks, huds still gets called on the shootouts.
