I would recommend staying at one of the casinos MGM is pricey but nice with many bars and shops. (Is Nice) 2 must go places would be Greektown and Hockeytown cafe. Also they have a hard rock cafe downtown now that maybe a place to go to. (have not seen it myself)

I first heard of Hockey at the age of 10 when I won tickets from the cub scouts at a meeting and went with my Uncle. Wings vs Kings when they wore the LA Laker jerseys. it was '84 and there was a young guy my uncle said was going to be a great player. I have been and Yzerman fan ever since and will always be a Wings fan.

I am not sure if The Honda center has this service but you can check with guest services when you arrive at the arena. A lot of arena's have setup up security texting. Simply text them for example sec 204 row 12 guy in seat 5 drunk and trying to start fights. 5-10 minutes later security is there to escort him out. After the text they observe the person while security comes to the location and if it is seen as a actual call they are radio'd to proceed to removing them. It is something a lot of stadiums have started. If this has already been post sorry about duplicating it

Peronia's (err spelling) they are in various locations in MI. Also may want to check out the Sports Authority I had one done there a few years back. But I had one done at Peronia's and they do a great job there.
