    2 games, 1 goal against...

For the record the Boston player (was it Wheeler?) had no angle to put that puck in the net, just like with Hossa's chance in the 08 finals. With the second goal, you don't know if he was actually beat because the PUCK DIDNT GO IN. Shots on the post don't count as goals so why should Ozzie worry about stopping those? It isn't like Osgood was easily beaten and the Bruins didn't capitalize. They didn't capitalize because Osgood was able to beat them at every step of the game and Boston played some uninspired hockey during the middle frame. The defense also kicked into gear when it needed to and kept Osgood from beiong bombarded. Ericsson being out of the lineup has little to nothing to do with it. It has to do with multiple variables. Lets just be happy right now the Wings are playing amazing.

He really didn't say that, did he?

We get it, you hate the hit...

11/3 GDT: Bruins 0 at Red Wings 2

If they photoshopped a pool under him, that would be the best pool commercial ever.

I think Zetterberg is auditioning for a Captain Morgan commercial. He doesn't seem to understand the concept, though.

Seriously, trade Osgood for a bag of pucks because I cannot watch him let in one soft post-shot every single game. This team is too good for that.

    OHL Hit

That's really sad to hear. Hopefully he will be able to play in the future, and at least it looks like things are improving, albeit incredibly slowly.

    OHL Hit

When you look at the player coming at you TWICE, it is your own fault for turning your back on him when he is literally inches from hitting you. No, no, and no. Yes he took some strides but normally when you enter the zone you skate into the zone. Not a charge from my point of view however that is arguable. Of course he is shaken up. He made a hit that possibly ended another players career. However the emotions involved don't have any bearing on if a hit is dirty. None. And neither does the fact his own parents were at the game. That just means it is a really s***ty situation that everyone wishes didn't happen.

    OHL Hit

Do you have a point? Plenty of hits happen quickly after the puck is gone (note how I said POTENTIALLY). In many cases however the hit is made to get the player to lose the puck either by their own will or by the force of the hit. I still am wondering where you are going with this and what it has to do with the hit in question.

No problems, just let me know when/if you have the rosters and such and I can put them in the OP. Nice work as usual.

    OHL Hit

Finishing his hit? Potentially taking the player off the puck? Giving the player pressure?

    OHL Hit

If the kid got up then the hitter would have certainly benefitted. What does that have to do with anything?

    James Wizniewski Suspended

It surprises me how many people agree with the suspension because of an elbow. Was that suspension worthy?

    OHL Hit

Sure he does, but not because he did something wrong. It's because he made a hit that ended up with arguably the worst result. If the kid didn't turn his back last second he might have been perfectly fine and it would have been a highlight reel OHL hit. Would people still be getting angry at his hit?

    OHL Hit

So scouts don't look at physicality when it comes to whether they should be picked up? Sure it is only one thing, but if a player busts his ass every shift and does everything he can to help his team, then hell yes he is going to have a better chance than the guy who coasts around and attempts to do pretty s*** to get noticed. And once again, some players don't even have a shot, so why should they let up if this may be the last competitive league they ever play in?

    OHL Hit

You know not every player in the OHL moves on from there and plays more competitive hockey. As a player, I will go for every hit I can make if I know my chances of making the NHL are slim and nil (and especially if I could have the chance to make it but need the extra oomph). You do make a good point, but are players who probably will never play in the NHL supposed to coddle these young guys simply for development's sake?

    OHL Hit

You believe that the Konstantinov hit in the 97 finals isn't comparable because it was open ice. You didn't speak about the fact he caught his head in the hit (from my vantage point) or attempt to disagree with that point. And one of my first responses was that Konstantinov looked to lead high on his hit as well. You then dismissed it saying it was completely different because it was from center. I'm not championing anything. It is awful he got so injured, and even replied to ESAD about it. But the fact is an injury doesn't only stem from dirty hits. It comes from clean hits and plays where one of the two involved could have done something to prevent the injury. This time it was the victim of the hit who turned at the last second. What stake do I have here? I support neither team, nor either player. And I do not support injuries.

    James Wizniewski Suspended

I thought the suspension was a joke. Maybe a penalty for the play, but two games is ridiculous. Also, this is the hit in question.

    OHL Hit

I understand the difference, but the fact is that you are the only person I've ever encountered that believes a hit to the boards can be considered dirty just based on the fact it is a hit to the boards. Watching hockey must be very trying for you to see all these scrums and hits in the corners.

Especially considering he had a skull fracture. That is a huge deal.

    OHL Hit

The real shame is you are determining how clean a hit is based on where it comes from. A hit to the boards is as legal as a hit from center ice, regardless of a result. You are the first person I've seen who claims otherwise.

    OHL Hit

Sure they compare. A head shot is a head shot, regardless of where it is on the ice. Potential headshot based on what you believe to be a headshot. And you also can't tell if there is intent to injure there. Sorry.

    OHL Hit

Well for starters NECK is not HEAD. Secondly people get hit in the head at times when making body checks. I have had stitches done to my chin after a guy who had at least six inches on me rocked me. The play was perfectly legal because it was a good shoulder hit. He was just taller and his shoulder sits a bit higher up than mine does. I mean for crying out loud Konstantinov's famous hit back in game 3 of the 97 playoffs could have been considered a head shot based on what people talk about today. He wasn't aiming, he just got him in the back at the last second which wouldn't have happened if the player didn't try and turn away from the hit. An unfortunate event to a clean body check. And for the record I want to say the padding on player's shoulders and elbows these days is way too hard. They need to soften it up because that has to be a factor in the amount of force players exert on one another.

    crosby fights

Probably not, but like I said he admitted he wanted to fight because he was pissed about being slew-footed. It happens. Not a big deal.
