Not if his head makes contact with the ice when he isn't wearing a helment. He fell hard.
-
Blatant head shot? His shoulder is making contact with the BOTTOM of the other player's head. The victim put himself in that position at the last second. It is a really unfortunate circumstance, but one he could have avoided if he didn't turn away from a guy he knew was coming.
-
Did you even watch the video? Wow Four, I am surprised you can even tell where his elbow is in that still.
-
Of course not, because you chose to show a still of where his elbow was located AFTER contact was made. That is useless. You could argue he crosschecked him in the head based on that same logic.
-
Crosby admitted in an interview that it was an emotional thing. He got slew-footed, didn't like it, so he went up to Zid because he wanted to fight. Who even cares if he did it out of rage or to send a message? Both are fine anyways.
-
He looked twice and saw him coming before he even got to the puck. So yes he knew the guy was coming. He was right next to the boards, it wasn't a charge (arguably), and his elbow was tucked in.
-
That wasn't a dirty hit. You DON'T turn your back on another player bearing down on you at the last second. No way you can react when you are inches away from the guy.
-
Maybe this means the Wings will be able to score four goals in the first, blow the lead, then win in the shootout for once?
-
Well the thing is it is much different developing individual players so they can play better and utilizing a system that can work effectively with multiple players in a game situation. McCrimmon seems to have a hard time with the latter.
-
I'm glad everyone caught that.
-
Guys, I found a picture from an outside source. Seems Lidstrom hasn't been appreciating his team's efforts and specifically called out Todd Bertuzzi. Don't shoot the messenger, now.
-
Don Cherry's face when he found out Ovechkin was injured: I doubt Ovechkin will miss more than two games. Sucks to see him get injured after the tear he has been on, though.
-
The positives: + Crosby stood up for himself + Crosby won a fight The negatives: - Crosby took himself out of the game for five minutes without Malkin to help the brunt of offense in his absence (albeit only two shifts of his time) - Crosby swings like a girl (though he at least knows to remove the gloves unlike a certain Swede back in the finals last year) All in all, can't really give him grief considering their position in the standings. Good job, Sid.
-
Because one size doesn't fit all, and since it was possible he could have missed eight weeks, he is fortunate. Babcock couldn't give two s***s about if Gonchar is injured. He isn't on his team.
-
This injury wouldn't have happened to Hudler.
-
Isn't the intent essentially the same?
-
Bad post.
-
I really don't understand where you got the idea that people even think that from. Seriously, where?
-
Nobody can. Might as well pack it in since the Penguins are doing so hot IN OCTOBER.
-
For the record I don't agree that the captain has zero influence on his squad, but I don't think Electrophile believes that either.
-
Wasn't HFboards. It was Pensblog. Any way, who cares what Avery says? He is a real life troll.
-
I am agreeing with you broski.
-
Nevermind, that scenario is impossible to calculate because the amount of time spent on LTIR is unknown.

Honestly, the first year that the Wings miss the playoffs will be the worst, considering: 1. Every other teams' fans will enjoy rubbing it in our faces 2. Us fans haven't gotten used to losing since the late 80s. But no matter what I will be a Wings fan. Every year.

Regular season=playoffs. It requires a team effort for players to even get to that stage, so pardon Ovechkin for not having another superstar on his team to help with the offense. Also, funny how you call Crosby a real hockey player when Malkin (a Russian with a significantly worse defensive game) beat him out for the Smythe. What happened?
