For the record, Franzen will most likely not be playing in the regular season. They will try to keep him on LTIR as long as possible so if necessary they can make a trade deadline acquisition that would put them over the cap otherwise, and that way when the playoffs roll around the cap is insignificant and they do not have to worry about removing salary just to keep acquisitions on the roster. This would also not matter if the Wings traded away salary so Franzen could come back ASAP. Also the amount that can be over the cap hit relates to the amount of days played. His cap hit is the same, but you can only compensate by the cap hit per game times games played (or days on the roster, if that is the correct terminology), if I am not mistaken.

He wasn't called out in that post, and no one really has called him out, because he hasn't made any glaring mistakes. No need to get angry over something that isn't even happening.

Glad to see May is getting a warm welcome here. With last night's performance he really has been showing he wants to be a regular contributor. (in before "omg you changed your stance you anti-fighter!". No I didn't)

The coach. But the coach can't play for the players. It was the players who lost the game for themselves. Not the coach. Just about any inconsistency can be blamed on the coach, but the fact is most of those issues have to do with the guys who actually are paid to do the work out there. Don't give me this "coach didn't motivate them enough" garbage. It's game seven. Get the f*** out of the NHL if you need a coach to motivate you.

Why don't you ask this guy: It wasn't about coaching. It was about who decided to show up and play. Max Talbot decided to outperform just about every Red Wing in the most important game of the season. It had nothing to do with talent.

How do you figure? Pittsburgh had a plethora of talent wasting away on Therrien's system. They could have hired ******* Dave Lewis and they would have a similar record.

We let that guy go because of salary, simple as that. It is amazing it has to be spelled out for you. Also, Howard was maybe at fault for the third at best. Defense needs to act like it is getting paid roughly half the team salary.

Defense is the problem. Too many high quality chances.

Scuderi's was a bad play. Not intentional, but I am not exactly mad about the fine considering he won't miss any playing time. Just a slap on the wrist. The same goes for the hit on Malkin that was shown earlier. Both hits to the knees.

Yeah, I'm sure he is just not trying hoping that Howard has a killer year and does all the work getting him into the playoffs. What a joke.
