Atdhe stream is working, and looks better than the yahoo one imo.

For the record Detroit let in the first shot on goal last time we played these guys. ITS OKAY!
-
Holmstrom was on a hot streak at the start of last year too... There is a reason the season is 82 games.

The crappiness of Calgary's logo isn't the issue. It is a very similar logo, and is very reminiscent of college wordmarks in general. That is why I think it is a piece of crap.
-
A logo is a representation whether you think it is simple and stupid or not. And that is a logo. For the record the little thing that goes in front of the jersey is meant to perform the same task. Both logos and wordmarks are meant to tell the viewer what the team is. They do it in different ways. Some effort is not good effort. It is a professional team's hockey jersey, yet it looks like a college word mark. Try to make the effort into creating a logo that can represent the team well and compliment the jersey. Don't be lazy and put the team name and location and then add some asthetics to it to make it seem like you "did your best to make it look interesting." It isn't good. It looks bad.
-
The flames represent the team name. The C represents calgary (as did the A when it was the Atlanta flames). That is a logo. Just because it is a logo doesn't make it good. It doesn't have to be complex either to be good. But putting in a wordscript because you cannot make a logo to represent the team you are designing it for just seems lazy, and the design they used was just bad. It reeks of College Hockey jerseys which is why I hate it.

You really don't understand the difference? A logo normally "represents" something. A wordmark normally "describes" something.
-
Have you witnessed the big three yet?
-
I'm not a fan, but they used lettering a lot back in the day, and since they have kept it so for so long, it isn't as bad as a tacky third jersey design to sell merchandise. The Rags are the only team that have used a script as a logo for an extended period of time. Everything else with script as a primary has looked absolutely awful. Also consider the design aspect. The rags use a very original design with the script, while the Wild jersey is similar to many college jerseys. I don't mind the rest of the jersey, but DESIGN A GOOD LOGO.

Really? A hart? That means he will have to perform better than Ovechkin, Malkin, and Crosby, forgetting the other outliers who will attempt to contend year after year. That said, the Thrashers do have a good team. People tend to forget Slava Kozlov's offensive production.

I can't believe anyone would like those horrlbe wordmarked jerseys. This isn't college.

It's funny how many people where crying over the fact that Williams was signed instead of Prospal in the offseason, and once a month has passed people actually start rationalizing and not being "FAIL HOLLAND, FAIL OFFSEASON, PROSPAL>>>>WILLIAMS". I love this board.
-
Because he isn't an enforcer?
-
Normally when you make a pass you are looking in that direction. Unless you think he should have made a no look pass and made sure he knew where Richards was at all times. Some hits happen because players can't look everywhere at once. Great hits happen when the hitter is able to take full advantage of those opportunities.

Red Wings VP Jimmy Devellano on Fan 590: Wings fans should lower expec
Doc Holiday replied to kook_10's topic in General
And at the end of the day, his expertise is in coaching, not in being a GM. Why do you think it was so easy to let the guy go to Chicago? Bowman was no longer a vital piece in the Red Wings machine by that point. -
This. Honestly I watch other teams games as a pretty casual observer, so I have no reason to sit in my basement with the HD and pay complete attention to a game when I can browse and do schoolwork on my laptop and see the same game. Wings games are the only ones (and a couple others) I can actually fully concentrate on without being there live.

My name is Doc Holiday and I approve of Gcom's message.

He at least has hookers.
-
Wow just watching these stats makes me laugh. That is insane how even a defenseman can light it up like that in any league.
-
The Yotes game was all goaltending? Didn't realize that Osgood wasn't let down at all during regulation in that game.
-
Well for the record YOU initiated the argument with ME. Also Ovechkin has had ONE play where he has made potentially malicious contact prior to this one, which was the Briere incident. That is the argument.
-
My position is clear. A hit from behind is dirty. Ovechkin's hit on Briere was dirty. End of story. Goodbye.
-
And the game previously the Wings scored a whopping two goals. You are right, goaltending has been the problem for all these previous games. And with less than 3 mil invested in both goaltenders you expect that your goaltender rarely has to be put in that situation. Detroit has done that EVERY GAME. That cannot happen with the amount of money given to the defense and offense. No way.

Good point. However vulnerability is not the case in either of those rules. Also the vast majority of boarding calls come from hits from behind. What are you talking about? I have stated a hit from behind is not legal. He was nowhere near plowed. Sometimes players are unable to make a decision at the last second to let up on a hit. They are called accidents and even the pros make them. And I hope he doesn't let up because Ovechkin plays the kind of hockey I like to watch. Hard hitting, don't let up for nobody (provided it is in the rules) kind of action. No, it just isn't the end of the world when some plays are missed or not called "perfectly". Yzerman commited slew foots in his hay day as well. Obviously.
