Osgood will be playing more games than he did last season. If you honestly don't think Detroit can make the playoffs in a top 4 spot simply because Howard is Detroit's backup then you are insane.
-
Obviously an attempt to appeal, despite the fact that Moore wouldn't even be able to earn any of that money anyways.
-
No one should have their career ended for a ******* elbow that injures a guy for a few games.
-
Moore fought in that game. And the statement you are referring to is not from a recent interview. And since his whole legal battle isn't over, why should he let it go?
-
You are wrong. EVERYTHING is a toughness debate on LGW.
-
Looked pretty good. I found it hillarious that he was advertising himself during his interview with Trevor. Also I enjoyed it when he bowled over that Toronto player. Whoever it was.
-
I'll enjoy bringing this up when you're wrong. Also:

That's what she said.

So Brad May is like a giant fly-swatter?

And Getzlaf and Perry didn't score because they imposed their will. Their top line was just dynamite. A lot of their goals were scored off the rush and off their defense forcing Wings players to the outside. A lot of Detroit's shots were perimeter shots. And Anaheim's body checking style got quiet pretty quick after it lost them game one. They didn't try to out skill OR out hit Detroit. They played a smothering defensive game with their defensemen (who were all playoff beasts) which kept Detroit's best players to the outside and used their top line to completely take over the games. They didn't try to crush players, they didn't use enforcers to scare Detroit. They played a very disciplined system. Wrong. You mean like this? Once again, physicality didn't hinder Detroit. Their defensive system did. Detroit did not play a puck possession game, tried to create offense from the perimeter, and were basically handled easily because Anaheim's defense kept to their system (which didn't live and die off their physical game) and kept Detroit to the outside. Good one, tiger.

In all honesty how many flies were there last season?
-
Anaheim played a solid defensive game and got their offense from an unstoppable first line. Signing goons didn't somehow make Detroit vulnerable.
-
I don't think anyone lambasts you for saying the Wings don't have many tough guys in the lineup. There is plenty more to give you grief about. Also, who cares if he is a "dirty" player? Nothing wrong with having a fourth liner with a mean streak is there?
-
I think the Red Wings have shown last year and the year before that having an enforcer doesn't always protect the players, and that an enforcer isn't exactly needed to prevent injuries. I do think it would be nice to have a guy like May chipping in, though.
-
I point out that I am not anti-enforcer. I do not speak for the rest of the posters here. I would think Shoreline isn't a fan of having an pure enforcer in the lineup.
-
This thread has turned into anti-enforcers screaming for May's head and pro-enforcers bawwing because they may lose the chance at another enforcer. I'm not sure which is more annoying.

Two days rest is not spread out. And the Penguins finished three days earlier than Detroit did. The league f***ed up to where if the series lasted longer than five games (which a series normally does) then they would have had a week long break. That is the NHL's f***up and a team should not be punished for it. With a team riddled with injuries, you have no idea how big of a deal losing those 5-7 days was. After having fully rested players, it is not difficult to have back to backs. However when your best players are injured and tired, playing two games in a row against a healthy and rested opposition is going to take the gas away from you. Heroes explained it well. After they scored a couple goals they were much more focused, but they did not carry the play in the first ten.
-
And if the Wings had lost one more game in the Chicago series, it would have been delayed a week anyways. It was stupid of the NHL to require the Wings to play two days after finishing a series. Just stupid. They made their bed and they should have to sleep in it. Back to back games would have been fine if the teams were given a week off. They rescinded the suspension for good reason. Malkin is not a fighter, and that entire rule was put in place to dissuade coaches from bringing out their fighters in the last minute to injure other players. That was a good call by the NHL. It was just a bad call. To be honest the Wings didn't dominate a single finals game. They were on their heels the majority of the series.
-
Well having two days rest with injured guys is never a good thing. Not saying there was a conspiracy, but the cards certainly weren't in Detroit's favor going in.

Wings look to regroup after Game 7 stunner
Doc Holiday replied to 19Wingsfan4ever's topic in General
People seem to forget that Detroit had two days before game 5 of the WCF and game 1 of the SCF. That was also a big factor. Good analysis, either way. -
I'm not complaining. I'm just stating that 700 a credit hour is incredibly expensive no matter who you are. Also there are very few public universities that are as accredited as the one I'm going to for my specific major. In other words, just stuff it Nancy.
-
You know what is more annoying than knowing the Wings were two goals away from winning the cup? People reminding me about it every couple of weeks. Just ******* let it go guys. We lost. It's a new season. Detroit has yet another shot to hoist the cup this year.
-
Hey, even 1 mil can pay my way through college. Private universities are a *****.
-
He made Crosby dive in the finals once. Does that count for anything?
-
And I bet Osgood was thinking "I wouldn't care if my entire team sucked in the preseason if they actually could show up in the playoffs for me. You know, the season that actually matters." Who gives a s*** how he performs in the preseason?
