Pretty sure Homer is the most reliable "front of the net" grinder in the NHL. Can Grier do that? Me thinks not close to the capacity Holmstrom can. It doesn't matter either way, considering Holmstrom WILL NOT BE MOVED DURING THIS CONTRACT.

The only ones I know that dive are Maltby (who we have no choice but to have and would rather see gone), Franzen (who is a great offensive asset to the team), and Samuelsson (who was a total *****). Zetterberg has defended himself, and even Datsyuk defends himself from time to time (even though he doesn't know what he is doing).

You call the Wings soft because they have a player like Franzen on the team who dives. Lapointe was on the 97 and 98 teams, yet I don't think anyone would call those teams soft. So once again, what does Franzen's "diving" have to do with who plays on the fourth line? Because that is the reason that people like you get in your sarcastic moods and like to chirp about. Signing players like Grier and such.

Sure, and I would have no problem with having a tough guy on the fourth line. They bring energy, have a lot of work ethic, and would put butts in the seats. But sometimes you need to know when to stop with the sarcastic jabs about the team being "soft like ballerinas" or whatever.

Because that is what everyone here thinks.... Perhaps some of you do need to grow up, because all I ever see when a thread pops up about signing players or the future of our team, one of you guys comes in with a sarcastic comment about how soft our team is.
