Yeah. But I honestly think it was the different fit. He fit in better there than he ever did here.
-
One series? He was relatively invisible except for three game fours. He was not the force we needed in the post-season.
-
If a player is a Blackhawk, you as a Red Wings fan should want his ass to be kicked. No exceptions.
-
Exactly. Hossa is walking into a financial deathtrap.
-
We beat the Hawks in the playoffs. Them signing another playoff "play when I feel like it" player isn't going to hurt our chances. Penguins had it worse last year than we do now. They are foolish to laugh.

Aaron Downey and Darren McCarty will not be offered contracts
Doc Holiday replied to uk_redwing's topic in General
The difference is that Maltby and Draper are essentially useless now. Draper has faceoff skills, but that's pretty much the only plus they have combined. Next year there will be a chance to put stronger pluggers back in. It also saddens me to see Downey gone. -
You people got way attatched.

Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa
Doc Holiday replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Oh no! He isn't sure of his decision! Seriously, when millions of dollars are on the line, you can't honestly believe that the player is going to just make some rash decision simply because of the team. -
Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa
Doc Holiday replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I know right? How dare he consider his contract before signing with us? We are the Detroit Red Wings! Everyone must take a 2 million dollar contract now or they are selfish! -
I agree that the "haha tank" attitude of the Pens is ridiculously overblown, but Fleury's performance was average at best. Detroit was only able to provide sustained pressure in the third period, and they didn't even create many scoring chances when they did pressure the Pens. Fleury's value to the team was shown in the previous rounds. Not even close in this one.

What shocking news!

Perhaps I'm just jaded. From what I've seen some of the people there are incredibly incompetent.

Clean house in the city. Councils, mayors, everyong. No one knows what the hell they are doing anymore.

I am content with whatever happens. Joe or not, I still will get to see my Red Wings play. That's all that matters to me. If there are resticted sightlines in the new arena I will kill Ilitch.

It was good having you Sammy. If you are gone, hope you can find success wherever you go. Though I hated you on the point, you were reliable at great times. Cheers.

Snazzy, Motown: Shut up. Your stupid remarks are going to drive away a decent level headed poster. Who happens to be sporting an avatar of my favorite Penguin btw. And Jeff: We bring up the Pens because we are jealous. They won the cup and we didn't. Plain and simple.

Don't waste your time with those kind of statements. Not worth it.

It is suprising people are afraid of Dany Heatly, the lockerrom cancer, going to the Sharks. I would rather they did take him. The guy is a great player but a joke of a teammate.
-
You realize Datsyuk's stats are seriously skewed when you figure he played on the fourth line in 2002 and played against Conn Smyth winning Giguere in 2003. That's a big deal.

It is funny how the Vezina and Norris went to players of the same ******* team. I guess Thomas's numbers had nothing to do with Chara, or the other way around? Chara's numbers were barely better (if at all in a lot of categories) than Lidstrom's, while playing with a much better (we are talking #1 compared to arguably #30) goaltender in the regular season. Sorry Chara, that isn't your Norris.

Longshot but is it possible Penguins could match what Oilers
Doc Holiday replied to thegreat66's topic in General
Strange...these are weird colors for a Penguins forum. -
Detroit battled. They fought to the end to a healthy fast team, while a lot of their key members were injured. It as a great season to watch. Even if they didn't get the cup.
-
Who? Are you talking about Kunitz? And he ended up fighting back anyway. The only way he dished it out was in offense in the finals. There was no momentum swing.

Hurr political forum durr. Seriously. Go there.
