Lilja will go on LTIR if he isn't ready to go by training camp. And I think signing another defenseman is a pipe-dream considering Holland's comments. Our defense has the potential to be 2007-2008 great (same defensive core minus Ericsson), so I don't think the team needs a new defenseman.

On another note: it was classy of Bettman to offer to shake hands with a man who hates his guts. Good on him.

If anyone questions Osgood after last season, please give me your adress so I can punch you square in the face. He had a winning record in the regular season (a very good record actually) and was insane in the playoffs. This guy is exactly what our team needs.

You could say the same thing about the Penguins using black in their jerseys. Best thing about the Wings...there's no black in their uniforms. What's with every team using black as a color these days? I saw way too many black jerseys in the last three series with the Ducks, Blackhawks, and finally Penguins..all we were missing was an opening series against the Stars.

You=idiot. Hossa would not have won this year if he played in Pittsburgh. With his contract the team would have lost Orpik and would not have been able to sign Kunitz in the offseason. They might have let go of other assets to acquire wingers and it would have seriously hampered the team's progress. Detroit WAS his best option for a cup.

C-Iginla A-Sakic A-Lecav? Crosby is captain because he is their franchise player. Same reason Yzerman was given the C so shortly after he was drafted.

And Hudler shouldn't take the blame at all? Hudler should have seen the defenseman pinch in and provide support for him. He went straight towards both Stuart and Kunitz, missing the puck and allowing Talbot to make a break off a two on one chance.

To play with the two best offensive centers in the league would make me very happy for him. Do it Shero!

Game six was an easy read. One save doesn't make a great goaltending performance. Game seven, good save, but that was the biggest challenge he had all night. Once again, Fleury was not challenged much in those last two games. He did not outplay Osgood (neither outplayed each other), and his performance didn't win the game for the pens. It was the team that was able to press and beat Detroit. Don't act like a homer and tout Fleury as some god now that he won a cup. If that was the case Osgood would be considered the best goaltender in the league next to Marty B. So GAA is now relevant? I never said he was run of the mill, but don't act like he is a consistent goaltender. Games one, two, and five were plenty of evidence. Yes, he is great when he is on. But he isn't always on.

Why sign a defenseman when you can sign a goalie? Robert Luongo is a free agent that same year, and he has openly stated he wants to play for a contender. Vancouver is obviously not that contender.

I hope you don't get upset with the system if more tough guys are brought in and guys like Lidstrom and Rafalski do face cheapshots and/or injuries.
