One frame shows that Crosby was draped around Franzen. The replays confirm that. How can you deliver a blatant knee on knee when you can't even tell where his knee is? Are you aware of how knee on knee hits occur? Defenseless? How? Crosby knew he was coming and could have stopped or went on the short side. He tried to sneak by and paid the price for it. Franzen knocking over a ref isn't a history of being dirty. In all of his years in the NHL he hasn't done ANYTHING dirty. He has no relevant history. The only jackass here is you.

I don't see how adding a "Downey" type player to the roster will help get Detroit's forwards in front of the net. The main things I saw did not have to do with physical play. It had to do with stupid mental errors and lack of any type of puck posession.

Considering this is the first time it has happened, it is hard to cut him slack on the issue. However it is horrible of people to start asking for interviews before the handshakes to begin with. Franzen would have gotten the puck if Crosby didn't grab him. That play happens in the regular season, playoffs, all the time. It was not any kind of interference call. Not clear, not obvious, not anything. If anyone should have gotten a penalty it should have been Crosby for holding.

Darren Helm. Justin Abdelkader. Star power failed us, in my honest opinion. One goal in the last two games of the finals is huge. The role guys did their job, so I don't see how improving guys of that caliber could have helped us this year. That said, I would love to get another fighter on the team.
