WCF GAME 1 GDT: Blackhawks 2 at Red Wings 5
Doc Holiday replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Their top two guys played 15 minutes. What does that tell you about how well Chicago can play. -
Who cares? Fans of opposing teams on their own board are always biased as hell. I looked at the game seven GDT for the Ducks, and I couldn't believe how whiney they were. "Stay classy Wings fans" "I am proud of my team after this series, can Wings fans say the same?" "Wings fans are so whiney" "Wings won this cheating the whole series" Stay away. The team boards always attract the biggest morons.

Always had Osgood's back. Favorite Red Wing all time.

Hawks4cup? Hail2ducks? This has to be the same person. Either that or there are some incredibly unimaginative people out there.
-
Yes, their first line has tough guys. That won't be helped in any way, and our top guys can play their own game fine despite the "tougher" line trying to play them off of it. If they play their own game they win, and I am confident in them doing that considering they did so in game 4 after the confrontation they had with the same players. Neid's elbow isn't "hockey" like, the thread wasn't simply because there was a fight at the end, and though it wasn't worthy of a suspension it was a cheap move. And when it comes after the game to our stars it is going to be talked about at length.
-
Detroit's first line has never had a bunch of tough guys. I don't know what the f*** you are trying to prove with the "soft" argument when the fight in question occured with Detroit's first/second line out on the ice.
-
I thought it was a condition where the body sends shocks to itself, causing the person to twitch and experience physical tremors at random times. Must be wrong.
-
No I didn't. I agreed with your assertion that the Detroit/Colorado brawl was significant. Shoreline disagrees if I'm not mistaken.
-
I never mocked the thread. That wasn't the intention of my opening post here.
-
You are disagreeing with a position I don't have. I agree that the fight had significance, and I think that was much more noticable in the Wings players than it was in Roy. And I can understand your concern for the Wings players. It isn't fun to watch out own players get hurt like that.

Double OT on many occassions actually.

I'm not even discussing that specific topic here. (Am I?)
-
I'm not whining here. You are upset because you are upset that one or two people (maybe I'm underestimating) don't think the March 26th brawl had significance in that game. I'm not spamming. I'm making a comment about how this poll didn't need to be made simply to make a point and puff out your chest at the "anti-fighters" on the board. And when you make a new thread not everyone is going to think it is a great topic of discussion. Doesn't mean you have to mock them and call them out with falsehoods and personal attacks.
-
It wasn't the topic, it was the "evidence." I think Roy's performance was the furthest thing you could have used to prove the brawl had significance in the game. And then you said that my opinion was meaningless. Unnecessary attack for a very miniscule disagreement. And I'm going to take offense when you attack my character when I didn't even attack you in the least. Also, the Wings know how to handle a team trying to "goon" them into submission. Remember game 5 of the 07 playoffs against Calgary? And the post-game fighting in game 3 this year?

As a fan I'm scared s***less. The Wings were in a position to end the series and make a serious contention for the Stanley Cup Finals (it is the Hawks after all). Now they have to face a Ducks team with a huge amount of momentum in a home game where they HAVE to close the series. Considering Detroit has ended the last 8 series on the road, that scares me a lot. As someone who tries to be reasonable, it is a good chance for the Wings. As a fan, I'm terrified.
-
If the Wings win game 7, who cares what the Ducks do at the end of the game? Detroit has won three games against a team that has been "physically attacking" them, and could have ended this series earlier if not for a referee and a man named Hiller. What does last night's brawl have to do with this series? There was a brawl after game 3, and the Wings went on to dominate the next two games, breaking Getzlaf's point streak and putting their team in a 3-2 lead in the series.
-
Was this poll necessary? No? Is it going to go on and on for multiple pages? Yes? Carry on then. Hopefully we can interject Downey in the thread before page 20.
-
And was this attack necessary? Perhaps you don't wish to discuss hockey and would rather plug your ears and yell "lalalala" when someone disagrees with you. The significance was positive for the Wings, not so much negative for the Avalanche. I think Roy's play didn't really fall off as a direct result of that fight, considering the Wings didn't make their comeback until the third period. Can you provide a disagreement and act like an adult, or are you going to insult me and pretend my opinion is insignificant to the discussions a second time?
-
I agree that the fight had significance in the game, but you picked the worst point to go off on to prove him wrong.
-
Players normally have no reason to have their sticks up in the air at people's faces, but high-sticking calls happen all the time. The elbow was accidental, and you would be lying to say that only Red Wings fans think it was so. I've been on other team's boards too, and I know that "only Wings fans agree with you" claim is bunk. And it doesn't discredit his position, so I don't understand why you bring it up in the first place. And P.S.: It is ill-advised to admit to trolling on another team's board, and even worse to justify it because their fans are trolling yours. Take the high road and act intelligent if you can.

Capitals please. Epic game for an epic seires.

Almost all their skilled guys.
