The fact he is willing to go in front of the net shows that he really wants to play on this team. I was watching him last night and he made a great tip that just went wide of the net. He needs to be on this roster on a regular basis.

I'm pretty sure he was good friends with Malts, even though they had a nice tustle in game 3.

You mean like the Dallas game where he had 49 shots against him? Or the Ducks game where he saved a goal with less than a minute left in the game? I compare the goaltenders on a game by game basis. Conklin has not been screwed nearly as much as Osgood has. There was a third goal that maybe he should have stopped (isn't hindsight the best?!) but Osgood was hung out to dry and that does not help a goalie's confidence. Conklin even let in a goal (did anyone say he overcommitted on the shot?) early into the second. Detroit didn't play good enough, and Osgood wasn't the reason. He wasn't the reason against Columbus either.

Defense is way too inconsistent. At times (Conklin's shut outs against teams like the Kings and Chicago) they play great, but then other times (Last night, 3 pp goals) they just decide to screw the pooch and let their goaltender out to dry.

I'm from Michigan. I love watching Datsyuk play more than anyone in the league. I could care less who is on the ice as long as they provide for an entertaining scenario. They do. I don't give a s*** about the last names and if someone could tell me why a fan has to "relate" to a player to like them. I don't really understand it.

Reconsider playing in the NHL?? I'll give you one reason why they won't leave, and it is in that picture I posted.

I have a request: Find me the statement in the CBA that allows players to skip the actual game if they at least attend. I would be fine with them enforcing it if all parties involved were punished. They are not.

We don't have the cap space.

It was the wind that kept Datsyuk from making it to the all star game.

Where in their contract says they must attend off ice events when asked? I always thought you had to participate in the game to keep from being suspended.

They need to do something about it. Fluery in game 6 last year put himself in front of Franzen and got bowled over, and the announcers thought there should have been a penalty. That means they agree that Goalies can be obstacles and inerfere with players outside of the crease. I don't agree with that. They shouldn't be fair game but they shouldn't be protected as much as they are.

Also in case anyone wonders: Osgood's s% and GAA improved his first year of the Isles. Osgood's s% and GAA got worse his first year back in Detroit.

Lets talk about recent events, considering they are the most important and are more indicative of how well each goaltender will play in the short term. Osgood has had more shots against him the past 3 games than Conklin. By a long shot. 41 and 49 shots does not happen in Red Wing hockey and Conklin has not faced that kind of pressure yet (correct me if I am wrong here). And if the defense does its job then neither goaltender will have to face those shots. Conklin had more shots against in the first half of the season, and he did play better than Osgood. EVERYBODY knows that.

I didn't know having an enforcer would make our entire team much bigger and more physical. Thanks for letting me know.

Well considering current play is most important it is shown that the defense has recently screwed the pooch when Osgood is in net, and not with Conklin.
