Great game for Detroit. Hard to play when your offense has to go up against a guy like Miller. Awesome effort. Also: FIRE MCCRIMMON!!!

The game was in the bag? They had just scored and had some momentum in the game. I seem to remember a certain game where we were up by 3 in the third this year...against a certain finals team.

It looks like he took a run at Lidstrom, and Lidstrom was injured on the play. Lidstrom hadn't even touched the puck when he went for the hit. Like you will say later on, apples and oranges. I understand frustration but just because he made a hit...come on guys. Also a hit IS a basic play. Camaraderie? This isn't even something you can measure but I will still attack the notion that there is something smart about fighting for a hit. Even Mickey Redmond last night doesn't understand it.

Yeah I'm sure the board would want someone's head after a clean open ice hit... Give me a break. Should we start fights for the other player winning a faceoff? Or making a poke check? Or scoring a goal? This whole "it is ok to throw a hissy fit over a LEGAL body check and fight a guy for it" is ridiculous.

I'm telling Ott to get over it. Hockey is the only sport I know where people seem to get upset for a play that is perfectly legal. That was my point.

They should have fights in football whenever the quarterback gets sacked too. Or maybe in basketball when someone knocks the ball away. Or maybe in baseball when someone gets tagged out. Great logic to fight just because someone hit your guy. It's hockey, get over it.

I'll admit that Crosby jumping a guy shouldn't really matter on a Wings board but the "crotch punching" incident was pretty unique and worthy of discussion here. The guy gets the most attention out of any player. On HFboards there is an ad asking if I have a higher IQ than Sidney Crosby every time I do anything there. It gets annoying. Just like it would be annoying to see any other star get that much attention. My view on Crosby is he is a kid with a lot of emotion but doesn't really know how to deal with it yet. He gets incredibly ornery at times and just loses it in inapropriate moments. He will mature over time.

Can I criticize Crosby without being berated on here for it? Seriously guys just because other players do certain things doesn't make them any better.

Crosby jumped a guy unaware. Unless you know for a fact he acknowledged your offer you don't jump on a guy like that. Of course because it is Crosby he is either completely innocent or should be suspended for life.
