Support Chris Osgood (and the Detroit Red Wings)
Doc Holiday replied to interminded's topic in General
Yes a couple of headlines definitely trump his statistics. -
Yes we should find it a problem, but since it isn't close to April we can be happy that these mistakes are fixable beforehand. No need to assume this team will be the same as the one playing in the first round. Everyone knows this isn't the 2007-2008 Red Wings.

Not to be the devils advocate but St Louis and New York anyone? Propped up stats there? -

He played one full season with St Louis and had a 2.24 GAA and .910 save percentage. He never got the chance to be consistent with that team. My point is he didn't "fail" there because he put up better numbers with inferior teams, which shows if he went to a bottom tier team he could hack it. No he isn't playing well now (I didn't get to see last nights game so I can't say if he did bad or not) but he has been a very good goaltender in the past. -
HEY GUYS HOWD WE DO ALREADY!?

Man Crosby is such a baby sometimes. You got hit, deal with it.

Secret: Did you know that coming into New York he had better numbers than his last year with the Wings? And his numbers with St Louis were better the last year than when he came back to Detroit? Product of the system? -
So howd we do?
-
Well I hope they wouldn't play Conklin based on his performance against Boston....
-
Franzen would score like crazy if he was on the first line. Basically having Playmaker Datsyuk, Scorer Hossa, and Holmstrom (On CRACK). That is an unstoppable first line.

Erm...what?

They played with fire and determination. I saw very few mistakes and the Wings played with confidence. If they played like that against a healthy Ducks squad they could have a chance to win. I'm not saying they would win automatically but they would definitely be in the game and have played better than any other game I've seen this season.

Yeah, because I ******* said that.
-
They way they played tonight, absolutely.
-
Just because they were tired doesn't mean they weren't dominated. They let up during the third period after they scored an focused on defensive play rather than scoring which kept the shots from going up. What I'm saying is the Wings did something they were supposed to do. Dominated a team they should have dominated.
-
The Wings have never played a dominating performance. They should have tonight and they did. That is A GOOD THING.
-
His back was turned.
-
Did anyone else thoroughly enjoy the majority of that period? Great action and serious effort by the Wings.
-
Yeah our powerplay has really struggled lately. Wait a minute....
-
Wasn't he our powerplay guy?
-
We are missing Holmstrom which is clearly affecting our first unit.
-
We lost to the Ducks in overtime.

I'm not even watching Monday. They really aren't worth it.
