You can't base it on one game. Detroit hasn't played like Detroit ONCE this season and San Jose has been playing well since the start. To say playing them in the playoffs is the end of us is obviously ridiculous and actually seems par for these forums. San Jose isn't going to be the death of us. The only team that can honestly beat us is ourselves and us playing San Jose was evidence of that. I'm sorry but I'm not afraid of San Jose.

I believe the entire premise of the "Gordie Howe Hat Trick" was to signify that he was the biggest most skilled badass to lace up the skates and by getting a goal assist and a fight that means you have skills and the badass nature of Gordie.

I understand why the NHL would market him but this has to either be obvious product placement that isn't needed and completely retarded or all the NHL's new fans are Crosby fans. I wouldn't compare Downey's "enforcement" to what he could do in the NHL. He is going after a bunch of AHL youngsters. Either way I don't think either of them would do much good in their roster spot when it comes to skill.
