How about a throwback that has the really old logo? That keeps the brilliant logo but it brings out the vintage part of Detroit's legacy. I would have no problem seeing Franner scoring a hat trick in a gordie Howe-esque jersey.

And fans like me are perfectly fine with being not among the elite in October. When Detroit gets into the swing of things they will be dominant. When the Wings have played well so far they have really taken it to their opponents so there is no need to do anything but discuss how they can improve. Well considering Quincey doesn't seem to have a shot at cracking the top four I don't see Detroit having such a loss. With or without Cheli we'd still have a logjam and we might have lost Quincey next year anyways.
