Michalek or Volchenkov would be great for this team, but I think both are too expensive, and will draw considerable interest from many teams. Michalek would be an awesome fit for this team, a little bit of skill, little mean streak, and tons of defensive awareness. One of the best shot blockers in the league. I think Lilja will resign for the same money as his previous contract. That way we have one shut down guy to play with Ericsson or Kindl. That is a good 3 man rotation for the bottom pairing. Not to mention injuries.... I would love to see Michalek on this team. But he is going to get at least Brad Stuart money (3.75 mil) or more.

I feel the exact same way. The thing is, I don't know if this is just because I am a die hard Wings fan, and it is hard to see them lose? But s*** really was f***ED UP for this series. Do San Jose fans honestly feel that they deserved to win this series 4-1? As if losing in the finals in game 7 last year, to two goals from MAXIME fing TALBOT wasn't enough, we have to watch the Wings go out like this this year??? GIVE US A BREAK!!!!!

Game 5 will be the toughest to win. Can the Wings win in the Shark Tank? If they get a solid game from everyone, don't let 3 goals in during 90 seconds of the first period, or sit back, take a million penalties, and blow a 2 goal lead in the third. I am confident that the Wings realize how much is at stake in game 5, and will play accordingly. You can bet that those Sharkies will be bundles of nerves on the plane, heading back to the Joe for game 6.

So which will generate the greatest profit for the NHL, and do you think it is going to happen???? I left San Jose and Philadelphia out of it, because I cannot see them drawing more money than the other teams for obvious reasons (not Original 6 or Canadian). Do you think having an original 6 match-up would draw more money than having a Canadian team, Vancouver, in it? Or two Canadian teams?

Cleary is one of the most injury prone Wings. He seems healthy now, but does anyone expect him to remain that way if the Wings make a deep run? I don't. Look at last years playoffs, he got off to a great start, and then slowed down considerably.

I think that Tatar has started to slow down. The long season is starting to get to him. I know he was a healthy scratch for a few games earlier on in March. Not sure if he has played lately.

I was at this game last night in Hamilton, and it was a good one. Griffs were outplayed badly, but were only down 3-2 with 2 minutes left when they go shorthanded. Abdelkader puts away the tying goal, short handed, with 40 seconds left. Anyone know why Tatar was not playing? I was really excited to see him play, and disappointed when he was not out there.

What were the lines that Babs used in this game? I know that he was going to start Filppula off with Zetterberg. Did they play together the whole game, and Dats with Franzen?

Filppula should be the second line centre. I would like to see these two lines given a chance Z - Dats - Homer Cleary - Filppula - Franzen Franzen can dominate on the second line, and that would help Filppula's game. We were able to win the cup with a second line of Sammy - Filppula - Franzen

This is going to be a big game. We finally get to play the Hawks with a healthy lineup, and see where we stand against one of the top teams in the league this year. Let's see what Franzen, Kronwall, and Lilja can add. Correct me if I am wrong, but the last time we beat the Hawks was with Franzen in the lineup. 5-3 Wings.

I thought Canada would win tonight against Russia, but I didn't expect them to dominate like they did. If Sweden beat Slovakia tonight, then Kronwall and Lidstrom will play a lot of minutes against Canada. Guys like Nash, Getzlaf, Iginla, Morrow, Perry, Richards, etc are going to crush them. Lidstrom has lost a step, and we know Kronwall has problems. I want to see Slovakia win tonight, 3-2.

Yes I don't think Tatar will be ending up in the KHL ever. People from his country love to work in North America, and he seems to be adapting to the hockey over here quite well.
