January 4, 2010: Boston vs Rangers

Wow did anyone see that smoking hot broad that Versus has interviewing the players during the intermission? She probably doesn't know a thing about hockey. It's funny how the Americans have to have someone like that on TV, whereas when CBC covers hockey, we get to look at Scott Oake. haha

Z and Dan just about ready

Ya just wait until Franzen is about to return. Aren't ACL tears usually like 8+ months?

    Another Wing injured?

    Maybe Filppula isn't quite ready?

12/26 GDT: Chicago @ Grand Rapids

Didn't he have a strong start to the season? This is typical for a young goalie, new to the league. He will learn to be more consitant with time.

12/26 GDT: Blue Jackets 1 at Todd Bertuzzi 2

LOL Big Bert, what would we do without him?? Imagine if the Wings get healthy, and Bert can play like this on the 3rd line with Flip at centre? Scary....

My team Canada and USA projected roster/lines.

You cannot argue against Iginla's skill, and I'm sure he will give it is all while playing for Canada. Canada is absolutely stacked, the only team that can compete with them is Russia, with the likes of Kovalchuk, Malkin, Datsyuk, Ovechkin, and Semin. Russia's defence does seem kind of weak however.

    Flips Little Day Back

Flip will only get better. In 10 games, he will be even better, and will be a great boost to our 2nd line. Go Flipper!

    Bertuzzi SUCKS

Haha, love your avatar dude. Bert has been amazing these last 10-15 games. Sure he had a slow start, but he was hitting at least 1 post per game. He has been playing solid defence, and using his size to his advantage in the offensive zone. I hope he can keep it up for the rest of the season (and playoffs).

    World Juniors 2009

Damn! Slovakia got killed! They went up 2-0 while the USA was gooning it up, but then I stopped watching the rest of the game (went out to drink), and it ended up like 7-3 USA....what happened?

    World Juniors

Great! I remember watching Slovakia last year, and noticed how good Tatar was. I'm pumped to see him flying around this year. Even though I am Canadian, I cannot wait for the Slovakia v USA game tomorrow night. The Canada game is going to be a blow out! (My grandparents were from Slovakia, so I have a connection there).

    Ritola sent down to GR

Good move. Who would want this guy on an NHL roster? I'm pretty sure the camera is on Kindl!

How has Tatar done in the pre-tournament games? I can't find any stats anywhere.

    Status of Ericsson's injury...

He has a deep bone bruise, which I think is similar to what was nagging at Pavel during the playoffs last year. There is no set time for how long it takes these things to heal. I don't think it would take much longer than a month at most.

    Best of the call-ups?

Janik. Once guys are healthy, I would like to see a 3rd pairing of Janik - Ericsson. This will give Ericsson more freedom to jump into the rush, which he is good at, while Janik stays back. Lebda is the complete opposite of Janik.

12/23 GDT: Blackhawks 3 at Red Wings 0

Without a doubt Zetterberg has been the Wings best player this season. Losing him was huge. Lidstrom has been struggling, and Kronwall has been our best offensive defenseman this season. Losing him was also huge. Once these 2 get back, this team will start scoring more. Not to mention Franzen, the Wings most potent goal scorer. He started the season pretty hot (2 goals in 3 games or something?) but we all know what happened there. I have no doubts that a healthy Wings team this year could (and will) put a spanking on these Blackhawks come April.

Hey guys, just got home now, anyone know where a stream is? Anyone know why Red Wings Live on Justin TV isnt working?

    Rafalski questionable tonight with flu

Yay for Kindl. This guy has looked solid in his time with the Wings. Boo for Rafalski going down, why can't he give the flu to Meech, and have Kindl replace him?

    Leino Watch Thread!

I think his speed has definitely improved over last year, but he was pretty slow to begin with. He needs to continue working on his speed, and also add 20lbs of muscle. He is very good controlling and battling for the puck in the corners and along the boards, but he is too easily pushed off of it. If he can get stronger, he will have a much easier time taking the puck to the net. Once he gets there, he has the hands and the shot to finish.

12/18 GDT: Grand Rapids @ San Antonio

Hopefully he is learning in GR. I havn't seen him at all this year, but last year I watched a few of his games with the Leafs, and he is a big time floater.

12/20 GDT: Red Wings 0 at Blackhawks 3

For f***s sake, our second line is Leino - Abdelkader - Eaves. You could make an argument for all 3 of them to be playing in the AHL. The Wings will give a better effort Wednesday for sure. They will be at home and slightly more pissed off after the shutout. I still expect the Hawks to get the 2 points. This time it will be 3-1 Hawks. The Hawks are simply too stacked for this Wings team to compete with.

12/20 GDT: Red Wings 0 at Blackhawks 3

This injured Red Wings team is no match for a healthy Blackhawks team. I don't know why you think otherwise. You surely have no confidence in the talent level of your team if you think that the depleted lineup the Wings are icing could put up a challenge against an angry Hawks team looking to prove themselves against the league's best team in the past 15 years. Either no confidence, or no knowledge of hockey whatsoever. Go ahead, keep rubbing it in, your team shut ours out. I can only hope that the Wings are healthy in April, and the Hawks can, you know, actually win more than one game.

I'm not going to lie to you, I feel pretty damn good about the future. Once guys like Zetterberg, Franzen, Kronwall, and Filppula among others get back, I will feel like this guy: :colorbounce:

Haha, nothing to see here folks. This is a Hawks fan trying to avenge some built up feelings over the past few years. And by few I mean like 45+.
